What matters more? That you claim the #1 prize or that you finish the race?
Most people would answer, “Getting the #1 spot!” but…
Sometimes “life happens” and you get a curve ball thrown at you. You might work hard for years to get one shot at achieving your dreams when something tragic happens like in this video…
But is it really tragic? Sure Derek wasn’t able to finish that race but when one door closes another opens that usually leads to an even better place that you NEVER would have ended up if that previous door hadn’t closed.
Dereks courage, dedication, and perseverance inspired thousands of people that day, the crowd cheered for him with more passion and heart than the winner of that race, his courage touched the souls of many and has continued to inspire tens of thousands of people to NEVER GIVE UP and has delivered much much fulfillment to his life than any one victory EVER could have.
How many times in your life have you been so focused on how you think things “should” look that you are unable to see the immense rewards and benefits sitting all around you?
When we lock onto a particular idea of how we want the story to end, we rob ourselves of the ability to see alternate and much BETTER endings.
In this case, it’s sad that Derek experienced an injury in his leg but the amount of strength, admiration, and respect he gained by showing the world that no matter what, even if you believe you’ve already lost the race, even if you’re in pain, even if it seems hopeless, even if you’re in pain, NO MATTER WHAT you NEVER EVER give up.
Because in this case, Derek may have lost a race but he finished a hero that gave him a legacy the will long outlive the 1st place prize of that race.
Sometimes it doesn’t matter how you finish, it doesn’t matter what place you end up with, it’s the dedication, resilience, and fortitude TO finish that brings you success in life in ways you would never have been able to see if life DIDN’T throw you a curve ball…

Two questions that can change your life from Daniel Pink on Vimeo.
In this Motivational Monday we’re keeping it simple. Two simple questions that can change your life every single day. Because it really is the simple stuff that makes all the difference. We tend to over complicate success and you’ll see a great example of that from JFK in this video.
There’s a saying that I think we all need a good reminder that goes:

Some peoples challenges are real, some peoples are fabricated by others, but ALL challenges are the breeding ground of powerful opportunity to find greatness within yourself.
When you can shift your perspectives from your challenges being obstacles to your challenges being opportunities to augment and enhance your life, you’ve discovered

We just had the BEST WEEK we’ve ever had in business! It was fun, exciting, super cool and most importantly, it built MOMENTUM that will carry this success way further than our efforts this week.
So in this Motivational Monday, I wanted to talk about success momentum and include this fun video as a simple illustration.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our surroundings and find the limitations. And it’s not always easy to look beyond the limitations, open your mind, and find alternative solutions to get what you want out of life.
One thing IS certain though, you will ALWAYS without exception, find exactly what your looking for if

Do you have so much going on that you don’t even have the time to make a Pop Tart?
In this Motivational Monday I wanted to share with you a couple of very important aspects of success. In this quick and VERY funny “comic relief” video, the comedian makes a hilariously powerful point about how much we can get caught up in the hustle and spread ourselves too thin at times.
Even to the point we don’t feel like we have 3 seconds to make a pop tart! (Watch it, it’s hilarious)
In our pursuit of success we tend to take on more than the average person and we usually end up spending all of our time managing projects, tasks, and executing ideas.
And here’s the key distinction to be made about that idea.
With most people who are driven to create successful and fulfilling lives, there are multiple things going on all at the same time and the thing that tends to get neglected the most is the the focuses on your personal time.
We get so busy with business, work, and obligations that we tend to forget to stop and take a second to acknowledge and appreciate ourselves, our achievements, and our blessings, yet we continue to add more (projects, tasks, obligations) to execute and maintain.
All of these things take up our time and energy and creating success requires A LOT OF ENERGY! Expanding your possibilities is great thing until you get stretched so thin ALL nothing works and you don’t even have enough time to make a Pop Tart because you just can’t keep up with the demand.
In other words, it’s something ALL of us battle with from time to time… Overwhelm!
It’s important to manage your activities and prioritize the thing that get you where you want to go but also add a sense of balance to your life.
So I wanted to share this video with you to illustrate that point and give you some perspective on “slowing down” from time to time to ENJOY what you are creating and I also wanted to deliver it in a way that was funny and got you laughing.
Because one of the major reasons to work hard to create success and freedom is to have fun and laugh! And if you get so busy you have to follow the second set of instructions on this video just make some breakfast, it might be time to re-think what you have going on and re-prioritize your actions a little.
Not to mention it’s always a good thing to be reminded of the power of laughter.
Laughter is good for your health
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
Laughter dissolves distressing emotions. You can’t feel anxious, angry, or sad when you’re laughing.
Laughter helps you relax and recharge. It reduces stress and increases energy, enabling you to stay focused and accomplish more.
Humor shifts perspective, allowing you to see situations in a more realistic, less threatening light. A humorous perspective creates psychological distance, which can help you avoid feeling overwhelmed.
So enjoy this funny video, remember to laugh, and remember to take a second to appreciate yourself for all of the effort you put in to improving the quality of your life and enhancing the lives of your loved ones.
