Motivational Monday #5

Hollywood is typically not the first place I turn to when I need motivation and inspiration; although, I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this week’s Motivational Monday video. The lessons that Will Smith shares throughout this compilation are simple, yet profound words of wisdom…

A vast majority of the population would be quick to say that Will and other successful people attain their dream lifestyle through luck, chance, or good fortune. In reality, our thoughts and actions control every factor of whether or not we become successful – financially, spiritually, and emotionally.

Will is proof that only those who have the ability to banish disintegrating thoughts of fear and doubt truly conquer failure. Every legendary success story truly begins with nothing more than a dream and a desire to achieve greatness.

I share the formula I used to achieve success in The Unemployed Millionaire. To get your copy AND receive over $2,000 in FREE bonus gifts from the industry’s leading motivational speakers and authors, visit http://www.mattmorris.com/book.

Thought I would be the first to give you my favorite lesson…

Will’s comment about being “unrealistic” is powerful. It’s unrealistic that you can flip a switch and the lights come on. But thankfully Edison didn’t think so.

It’s unrealistic that you can bend a piece of metal and fly people over the ocean. But fortunately the Wright brothers didn’t think so.

The only limitations in your life, are the limiting beliefs in your mind. -Matt Morris

Thanks for this I need to see this everyday! I lost my job a year ago and i have been trying to find my true passion! Thanks for the motivation! Keep it coming!

    • Stefan

I love motivational lessons and success coaching but I always get hung up on statements such as, “The only limitations in your life, are the limiting beliefs in your mind.”

This is a very absolute statement and if I can make a list of real limitations that exist both in and outside of my mind, isn’t it just romanticized fluff? Believing I will live forever will not make it so. Some people believe they are Jesus.

I appreciate what Will says about Skill and Talent. Reminds me what I need to do, who I need to be and who I need to surround myself with.

My journey in personal development and Toastmasters must lead me to a bigger game. I must decide to. Touching too few lives with my passion and talent. Wasting my time.

“The only thing that I see that is distinctly
different about me is that I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill. You might have more talent than me. You might be smarter than me but if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things.. you’re getting off first or I’m gonna die. It’s really that simple.”

    My comments:
    Perseverence, dedication, focus.
If you want something, don’t give yourself an out or a plan B. It’s do or die. Most of us don’t believe in the greatness we have within and give up!

    Hey brother!

Thank you for sharing this video!

While many of my friends were listening to Eazy-E & NWA, I grew up listening to “DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince” & MC Hammer.

Will Smith is on my list of 5 people that I really want to meet in my lifetime. Just as he has been a major influence to my success to date, so have you Matt.

I appreciate what you contribute to the world…keep up the great work brother!

      Thanks Jason!
      I listened to them too!

Steel doesn’t float but but we have huge ships made of steel that we travel on the oceans in. Great video. I will watch that one many times to get all of it.

Thanks, I needed that! Will Smith is a great inspiration to many people that need a pick-me-up. I liked the part when he said “Our thoughts are physical, feelings, ideas, dreams, we are to commit ourselves to it. (I added for myself commit to the universe, and the universe will reply.

Thank you Matt and Will Smith

    Thanks Matt!

    Matt,

What a great compilation! It’s good to see someone who has made it share how he did it and not get all big-headed about it. He knows it has takena lot of hard work and a relentless pursuit of his dream.

I was even more impressed with how consistent his message was. As he went from show to show over a span of what looked to be many years (based on his hair styles), he said the same types of things. He didn’t just jump on the “if think you can or can’t, you’re right” bandwagon later in his career–he has been saying it all along.

I really appreciated the clip, Matt.

Thanks Matt, very inspiring, motivating & empowering. I want say amen to everything will said. Thanks for sharing Matt.

This is amazing, it just shows that all successful people all adopt the same principles in order to be successful. Success is a formula we can all use.

Now I have never heard anyone say you should not have a plan B. This is the first time that I am hearing that you should not have a plan B. Very interesting and powerful concept indeed. Thanks Matt.

What Will said about not building a wall but laying a brick the most perfect a brick has ever been layed and you will have a wall really spoke to me. You have to work on things in pieces and the whole will come.
    Thanks, Matt.

My favorite quote from Will is not on this clip but it is about marriage. He said, and I’m paraphrasing here, that if you go into a marriage with divorce as an option then you will be divorced but if you go into it for life then you will find a way to make it fun and to get through the worst of times. I love that and quote him often.

Awesome, powerful words of truth. Its that drive & vision that successful people have coupled with the efforts to reach for the stars that propels individuals like Will Smith to that top. Great motivational peace. Thanks.

I loved the part at the end where he told the little boy that just because someone else can’t do it, they will say that you also can’t do it! Just goes to show the impact that words can have in our lives and why we need to associate with like-minded individuals.

    Thanks for sharing, Matt.

    hey matt,

WOW. firstly i just want to say watching hitch made me want to become a Life Coach and help make changes to other lifes (on the verge of being qualified), secondly in pursuit of happiness just made me want to follow my dreams and aspire through overcome all hurdles, but watching this has given me a newer light in life and one thing that stands out from the clip is ‘fear of fear’. 2010 is do not fear year and i will start laying bricks to build a strong and successful wall.

thanks for the clip and your dedication to improving our lifes by exposing us to things that are positive!!!
