I cried...again. You are such an inspiration. Thank you. I am at a point in my life where I feel like a complete failure yet I find it impossible to give up and kill the dream inside of me. How do you get past that feeling of no worth? The song to this clip as well as the story reminded me of the reason why I keep trying. Thank you. I have bought your book and am on chapter 3 today! Hi Christine, hang in there. Someone once told me - When you're going through hell, don't stop there - keep going until you get out! Be sure to go through chapter 3 thoroughly and read my story about choosing to look at my failures as successes. I failed so many times I felt the same way at one point. The key is to simply get up more times than you get knocked down. The failures make you stronger... but only if you don't quit. God gave us all the power to create greatness. We were all created equal so double up on your faith and believe that He has a greater purpose for you. Keep me posted on your journey.

I saw this movie a year or so back. I cried then. And I cried this time, too. This is truly inspirational. I will be sharing it with others. I lost a child many years ago. Yet while he was with us, he taught us so much. So I admire the way this father shows his love for his son. Way to go

I am speachless as well. At 66 this man is pushing his body to the limit for the love of his son. So I don't want to hear anyone else use the word CAN'T. Imagine how many people probably told Mr. Hoyt that he couldn't provide a happier life for his son. In the words of Jimmy V.. "Never, ever give up!!"

Yes, I actually received this link over a year ago and it is just as powerful.. I found one sceptic who was so bitter about his own disability and was critical about Rick and Dick and blamed God for all his failures.. I guess we are realy ALL the cripled person in the wheel chair! We al need someone to push us to the finish line. The diference is we can be made whole and be runners that help another cripple.

This is very good. The first time i saw this i was really impressed at the love his father extended to him. I think fathers on a whole should view this. Its very touching and humanly. Once again the word 'impossible' is totally destroyed by the force within.

it is a mazing, see the pwer of love,such a woderful and incredible bond between son and dad even when that son is so needy.and i even believe it is same power help that kid to be determined and have a taste for his life.such a joy.thanx Matt

Matt, for over 20 years we carried our daughter to countless hospitals and medical facilities. We gave up everything as a family to help her live as full a life as possible. And on her second liver transplant her older sister gave up two thirds of her liver in an experimental surgery which gave her 6 more years.I think that the toughest thing that we ever did was listen to the doctor say that both of my girls could die that day. So, we really do know what this man feels for his son, we have lived it. God bless him, and may he have his son with him for many more years. The Kelly's.

Thank you so much for the inspiration which I really needed today.Been exhausted trying to help my daughter, who is 26 years old,and has Downs Syndrome ,move into a place of her own.It's a big deal for her and a bit scary for me too. Dick is a real man, our society needs more men to step up to the plate and be real men and not just FATHERS. His strong belief and courage to do what ever his son needed is extraordinary.
