This week’s video tells the story of a young man who changed his life and became a legend in just 240 seconds.

One of the fundamental building blocks of success, no matter what it is you are striving toward, is having belief… Belief in yourself that you have the potential to achieve greatness. Jason’s willingness and desire to get on the court is obvious evidence of one young man’s belief in his abilities.

What is equally inspiring is the hundreds of others who had that same level of belief and faith in Jason, despite his circumstances. Because of that belief, Jason performed at a level beyond what would be considered normal or even outstanding.

I was coaching a young lady this weekend sharing with her my core belief as it relates to being a successful mentor to others…

People will become what you expect them to become.

When you believe in someone and share with them that you have 100% total faith in their abilities to achieve greatness, they in turn develop a belief in themselves greater than they ever had without you.

This week, use your power of influence and share with someone else your level of belief in them. It may be all that person needs to take their life to the next level.

If you’d like to learn the science behind how belief systems are created, be sure to read chapter 3 in my book, The Unemployed Millionaire. I go deep into the science of how your identity is created and how to reverse the negative programming you’ve received your entire life.

By learning the science of how belief systems are created, not only will you be able to make radical shifts towards success in your life, you’ll understand how to do the same for others!

  • Hey Matt,

I love how Jason said that the basket was HUGE! :) Excellent demonstration of the power of a definiteness of purpose combined with a burning desire. Retreat was never even an option in his mind!

Thank you for the inspiration and the excellent book, just finished it for the first time.
  • Indeed an inspiring message.
  • Hi, from Romania! :)
I like most, of what you wrote, this phrase: "People will become what you expect them to become"... or you can say it "your attitude towards others determine their attitude to you".

    Have a nice day!

Hi Matt, this was truly amazing. Jason never gave up, and although he couldn't play, he still played a big role in the game he loved. Another thing that touched me was that someone, his coach, believed in him, and gave him a shot! Believing in someone and having faith in their abilities can make a huge difference in someone’s life. It is not only important to not only let go of your dreams and believe in yourself, but you should also encourage others and despite the statistics against them, give people a shot at being great! Jason gave back to his team as a coach and encouraged them and was with them all the way, even though he couldn’t play for a long time…Wow!

Oh my God that was Awesome!

WOW What i believe is never give up. Keep trying until you succeed. All the time Let your forcus be up.

My name is pete, I do not have an internet business although that is something if I had the money to start I would love to start. I see in you sincerity and would like to know how a guy like me on disability can score one shot, I do not wish to be rich, just survive.

    Can you help?
  • Agatha Martins

It just goes to show that when an individual has drive and determination, the doors of opportunity also opens.

Set goals, go after them and be committed.

    Its very inspiring.
  • The Kelly's
Matt, all of your videos are confirming what we already know. We can do what we have already started. We may need some help and mentorship, but we can and we will do it. No is simply not an option. And, even though some would tell you that it is too late in the game, this kid proves that all it takes is a chance to just get in the game. We are still waiting on, and expecting your call. The Kelly's.
  • Euron Whiteley

  • Matt, All the videos you show are truly inspirational and this one trumps all.

One of my favorite quotes..."When it seems impossible, when it seems like nothing is going to work, you're just a few millimeters away from making it happen". This is total BELIEF!!! Thanks Matt for a very touching clip.
  • I love that! Thanks Sharen!
  • Matt,

  • Edward G. Beagles
I had seen the video before, but I think the message will always be inspiring. It brings into clear focus the power of belief. Thanks, Matt.
  • Brandi
Previously seen this story, on Jason's 240 seconds to become a world known Champion.

He with so many others, have been an ungoing inspiration / icons to me, since being involved in a car accident / receiving severe head injuries.

Ordinary kids, but true Overcomers / Champions / Conquerors ! Jason truly earned his position as a leader / coach in basketball.
  • Thanks
very emotional and speaks the truth
  • Jesus is right.....BELIEVE !
  • Monica Clark
I really believe that belief is the starting point to all success. Belief is the igniter, without which the fire in one's life cannot be started. This story is a great example.
  • Matt,

LOVE this one brother! Thank you for these videos...definitely a great way to start off the week!

  • Thanks Matt......it was inspiring and a lesson worth remembering. Am trying a number of "new" approaches to success, one being Internet Marketing....Cheryl is on top of that as well.....Thanks for being a great mentor and friend.....Ned
