Jim Rohn touched millions of lives through his books, videos, seminars, and audios over the last 46 years. Jim mentored numerous leaders in the personal development industry and set the standard for legendary motivational speakers.

Mr. Rohn was someone that greatly influenced my personal belief system and helped me create the confidence I needed to achieve success. He will be remembered as America’s Foremost Business Philosopher.

“I wish for you a life of wealth, health, and happiness; a life in which you give to yourself the gift of patience, the virtue of reason, the value of knowledge, and the influence of faith in your own ability to dream about and achieve worthy rewards.”

That is one of my favorite quotes from Jim Rohn because it continues to influence the way I live my life on a daily basis. Please share your favorite Jim Rohn quote, book, CD, or video below. I would love to learn how your life has been impacted by this outstanding leader over the years.

If you haven’t done so already, I strongly encourage you to incorporate Jim Rohn’s business and life principles into your personal development. Learn more about all of the resources he created here: http://www.JimRohn.com.

  • I just found out last week that Mr. Rohn had passed away and though I never had the pleasure of meeting or hearing him in person, a lot of my mentors spoke highly of him and quoted him a lot in their own messages. (I have his "building your network marketing" CD)

You know it is amazing, you don't necessarily have to know some one in person for them to have an affect on your life.

When I heard Jim Rohn had passed away, I was very saddened. It was like I had lost a person friend or family member.

He will certainly be missed and his work will continue to touch and inspire multiple lives.

He has definately left the world a better place from him having been here.
  • Hello Matt,

Thank you for sharing this with us all. In the past 20 days, I have began a complete search of Jim Rohn's speeches, audio and seminar recordings. I truly believe, that my life has take a different route from that email you sent on the 8th of this month, regarding Jim Rohn's farewell. I'm moved and honor to know that such human being made an impact to thousands or perhaps millions of people in his lifetime, but what is amazing is that he will live forever as thru you, he has touch my life in a positive way. Thank you and let's keep sharing his way of thinking with the rest of our friends and family members.

    Thank you!
  • Thanks Matt,
I had heard that Jim was ill a few months back and now am very sad to hear that he has passed away. I do believe I will see him again in Heaven with the Lord Jesus....He made it pretty clear that he believed in the loving Saviour and that it was because of his faith in Jesus that he was able to do all that he did to serve others.

I first heard Jim on tape in 1996. The set of "The Five Major Pieces of Life's Puzzles", was in the All Star Pack from an MLM company I joined. I had never heard anyone quite like him and the statement, "For things to change, I've got to change", is what really spoke to me. I got so much out of that first set of tapes...I knew then that I had so much more to become, to do, and soooo many more people to help. I have been suggesting people listen to Jim's tapes for years.

I was blessed to meet Jim in Texas at an MLM convention in 1997, and was truly changed by his "talk". A fire was set alive in me.......to be like Jim and become an Inspirational Speaker....and I'm still working on that...Watch for me!! I have decided to do Videos and a Blog to reach out to help others....as I have survived soooo much and want bring others' hope that they can too....

I agree with many who have said that Jim's legacy will live on forever...as long as we keep telling people about him.

MY prayers are with his family at this time....I am sure he will be greatly missed.....
    Blessings, Dazzling Dolly Lutz

Dear Matt Thank you for this opportunity to contribute towards this tribute to Jim Rohn It is not often that people in Jim's position would use the bible to teach life changing principles such as giving and tithing and also "the law of sowing and reaping" I'm extremely proud of him. He was an awesome guy. My favourite quotes are: "Service to many leads to greatness." and "for things to change you've got to change" R.I.P. Jim

Though I have known him for a short time, he has greatly influenced my life and his weekly enzymes have been very uplifting. We will greatly miss him but I am sure God has a good and has already prepared others to fill the gap.

Thank you, Matt, for crating a chance for us to remember and reflect on work of this great man.

Quote that I personally cherish is: 'Whatever good things we build end up building us'

Great man, great work. It touched and changed so many lives across the globe.
    His legacy continues...
  • Hi Matt, and everyone.

I, personally, have not heard of Jim Rohm, but looking through his site, it appears that all the previous accolades are truly deserved.

I read through his quotes, and many of them are very good. The one I liked best is "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live." Evidently, he had a great sense of humor, as well as a very great mind and spirit.

I am sure he was well received into the universe, and is teaching even there (with a new body). Thank you so much Matt for introducing me to this great man. He will, indeed, be greatly missed.
  • Your's was a life worth living and our world was a better place because you were a part of it. Rest in peace. And thank you for all the inspiration.
  • One of Jim quotes I love is about understanding challange.

" We must understand that challange is a part
of success Challange is like gravity and you can't fly with out gravity"

Jim will always be with me

    sincerely,
    Sergio
  • Out of the hundreds of speakers i have listened to Jim's stories are the most memorable and easiest to recall. I always wondered why that was.

  • Over 22 years ago, Jim Rohn came into my life with his books and famous quotes. I have shared them with quite a few people over the years and also grew through them. My life continues to grow. When people ask who, beyond God, has made a difference in my ... the answer is always Jim Rohn and Earl Nightingale. While it's sad to lose someone who touched so many ... it remains a blessing with what he has done. Since all of my goods are packed due to an impending move, I will find a Jim Rohn product before I depart this area in a few days and savor the learnings. Thanks for sharing this Matt.

Jim Rohn said 'Service to Many leads to Greatness'
Well Jim you truly are GREAT!
You have made a difference in so many peoples lives through your teaching.
You earned your place in the history books!
I'm sure you'll find a way to improve heaven now.
    Rest in peace brother x

What a life! It is not a common phenomenon for a man to achieve so much within such a short period - one lifetime.
Late last year I enrolled for a year course that turned out to be invaluable.
I learnt about life-changing principles of life ranging from saving, investing, giving and tithing, to mention but a few.
Not to mention his unique way of using the bible to our everyday life issues. The law of sowing and reaping for one.
Words cannot describe how sorely his presence is going to be missed.
Thank you Mr Jim Rohn for leaving such a wealth of knowledge behind. We will always be with you.
May the Angels enjoy you as we have through your work the world over.
May your beautiful soul rest in peace.
  • Matt thank you this was awesome he deserve this, thank you, it's like he says he'll always be with us trough all the things he has thought us.
  • Wow if we could be half the person that Jim Rohn was This could be Heavin Herman Gonzalez thekoolstuff.com
  • It is sad that Jim Rohn had to depart this world on the weekend we had an introduction to Acceration Seminar in Johannesburg.

Jim was a mentor, a teacher, a motivator and an inspiring person, someone who changed the lifes of many. I will always remember him by, "Profits are better than wages." I believe he died a very happy man. May his soul rest in peace. Jim played his role, the ball is on our courts. He will be remembered by all in Personal Development. Thanks Matt.

It is so sad to me that Jim Rohn has passed away. He has influenced my life more than I even know thst he has through many years of being my favorite self improvement mentor/speaker. I met him at a MLM engagement that the Co sent us to and shock his hand many many years ago when we were both much younger then. He has been an influence in my life ever since. I will miss him very much! He will live on in all the CDs,books and all I have of his material and memories.

Please accept my personal message of gratitude for the tribute to J R as atoken of appreciation for who is and has been to the world, and surely continues to be in the work he has left behind.

My eyes continue to fill with tears at the passing on of Jim, who has hit my life with such a positive impact as I cacnot put into words.

The joy of his work, even as evident in you as I see in the tribute, and in a greater sphere than I even know, will be eternal, and has given our human kind a greater prospect to actually live purposefuly

I am just an individual, born in Africa, gone thru alot in life, and found my self settled in London UK. Over the past many years of my life the struggle to live on, forge afamily and society, have been engrossing, and by one of those quests, I was handed a CD by J R after a training to be a distributor of utilities. This opened my life for the first time to personal development, values of network marketing and I have got exposure to wealth of life I could have only dreamt of.
I subsequently enrolled with ,Success University, in pursuit on personal development, and in pursuit of ,STUDY, PRACTICE, and TEACH, to my family, community, and wider world. You may know that SU merged with world vntures and I seemed to see that emphasis shifted away from personal development. My teams had just emerged and I am re discovering the way forward.

It was only recently I learnt about J Rs illness, and since then I have been agonising about so many issues.....

I only came across such material, information, and people, at age 45 years...Only God can justify that, but I agonise about what my life may have been if it had happened to me at 25 or earlier, or even as soon as I learnt how to read and write....COULD THIS PRIVILEDGE BE GRANTED TO OTHERS AFTER ME? AND the world be even bettter place??

There was and will only be one J R but undoubtedly now I know quite a few or let me say many more of tremendous people like him who stand for and do what J R has acomplished in his life you now being on my list, BUT, I agonise on the fact that this number is not big enough, multiplying fast enough, and spreading quick enough???even with the information age.

I agonise about communities, peoples, and ofcourse Africa where I was born, and my strongest belief is that PERSONAL development is the key, more vital than the world bank, IMF or anything in the world, only second to faith in GOD.

I have deep respect for USA and the blessing to the world of what your country has produced in the like of J R, but I agonise on why this is not emulated elsewhere?

So in my tears I agonise, that while we have the material J R has left behind, we need lives to live it, teach it, pass it on, and pass it all over.

It is one sure sincere hope for humanity. I long to be more part of it.

May GOD bless you, your work and efforts to hold up the banner and the faith.

Long live the spirit of Jim Rohn
  • Hi, Charles,
I understand your "agonizing" over the fact that you came across a new way of thinking at 45....but it is NEVER too early or too late. If the statement, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears" is true then you received the new information at exactly the right time....

I am 62 and though I have been pursuing a "personal growth" path for over 23 years..I am still learning new things and I've also learned that it is only my job to show up, and speak up, and the outcome is in God's hands. I have not or ever will be able to make anyone "get it", until they are ready too.

Years ago, Abraham Lincoln, said, "People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

This is still true today......ANYone can decide they want a better life and I believe the Internet has made it easier than ever to access the most profound teacher's....and decide what we want to do with what we learn.....
Let your pain go, Charles, and trust God, He knows exactly what you and other's need......exactly....Just become who He wants You to become and do what He wants YOU to do, and you will have all that He wants YOU to have........
    Blessings, another "late" learner,

Interesting reading your article. Even though I am caucasian, and from the U.S, I have faced a very similar struggle. 1. Being already in my 40's, wishing that I have learned all of this sooner. and second, Having to accept the fact that so many are living miserably due to lack of this education. Not only from a worldwide point of view, but in the U.S. also, There are so many living so miserably in our own society, and sometimes, well most times it is nearly impossible to change their thinking. It is so difficult to move on amongst so many miserable people! But as far as I know, we've only got one life to live, and there is only so much we can do. We might as well let ourselves be happy. You cannot help others if you, yourself are in need.
  • One of my favorite quotes from him is...

Even though I never met him in person, I felt as if I knew him, just by listening to his recordings. Thanks, Matt, for introducing me to his works through SU.
  • “The big challenge in life is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You can not believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the limit.”; “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”;"Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune."; “Success isn’t something you pursue. Success is something you attract by the person you become.” – Jim Rohn
  • Amazing man, I have listened to Jim Rohn more than any other person...and has impacted my philosophy more than any other person - this is special considering we never 'actually' met...I wish we did.

The only thing bugging me right now is that this isn't plastered all over the news - people would rather hear about the latest celebrity affair - and certainly would never be as big as Michael Jackson's death...but Jim has helped people make marked improvements in their lives.

The world has lost a phenomenon that will never be duplicated/replaced, we will all miss him.
  • Jim Rohn was a great man who inspired many especially me. One quote which changed my life was (Profits are better than Wages)
which made me take a Leap of faith into Entrepreneurship
    RIP Jim.
  • I was surprised at the news that Jim Rohn had passed away. I thought he was immortal (almost). On my blog at yoursuccess.com, I've posted 3 of my favorite Jim Rohn videos called "how to have the best year of your life " rip mr Rohn. Thanks for your post Matt

Thanks for producing this tribute to Jim Rohn. I will save it and send to family & friends. He "IS" a great mentor.
  • Thanks for the video clip. My first time hearing of him. I'll look at his site. Just goes to show that whatever good work or actions you take in life, live on forever like a ripple effect, even when the physical body is gone.

truely remarkable man, could always inspire when you probably didnt want to be inspired, totally enlightening, thank you mr jim rohn
  • Truly incredible teacher, Mr Jim Rohn was one of those teachers I wished to meet/listen live one day.

One of the best things I've learnt from him was from his mentor : Work harder on yourself than you do on your job...
  • I honestly can't believe this. For me it literally feels like loosing my second father.

Jim has had such an impact on my life and I haven't even been through all of his materials yet.

I owe it to Jim to make something of myself using his principles, only then can he live on.
  • I finally woke up in Jim Rohn's Acres of Diamond philosophy...

Now, I can show others how to live to the fullest. It doesn't matter when you start, starting is the ultimate thing, as is staying the course... Mr Rohn may have gone, but the messages ring on, and ring true...

Thanks, Jim. May you rest in the bosom of father Abraham... Yinka Dixon (8 Dec 2009)
  • Thanks for sharing that Matt!!
I have been putting off going to Toastmasters for months.

I made the uncomfortable entrance to my first Toastmasters meeting last night in honer of Mr.Jim Rohn
One of his other quotes was...
"When the student is Ready The Teacher will appear"
I found that teacher last night and I am looking forward to the journey!!
Thanks Jim Rohn your words and inspiration will live forever!!
  • Way to go Bryan!
