I can hardly believe we’ve already reached the last Monday of 2009… This week’s video features Earl Nightingale sharing The Strangest Secret in the World. It’s a must see if you plan on making 2010 your best year ever!

YouTube Preview Image

The Strangest Secret video is supremely motivating to me and provided tons of inspiration during my planning for 2010. Every year between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I dedicate at least one entire day to developing action plans for the upcoming year and I encourage you to do the same.

Here is a basic overview of the formula I use as a guide when setting my goals:

  • List specific goals with a time frame for achievement.
  • Create a detailed reason for why you want to achieve that goal.
  • Develop a specific action plan for achieving your goal.

Based on the astonishing increase in success in my life and the lives of Unemployed Millionaires I’ve mentored, I can guarantee that if you follow the formula for goal setting laid out in Chapter 5 of The Unemployed Millionaire, you will improve your life dramatically over the next year.

I’d love to hear about your biggest goal for the new year (and decade) and how you were able to achieve your greatest accomplishment of 2009 below! Also feel free to share your favorite lesson from Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret…

P.S. Learn more about goal setting Unemployed Millionaire style and help me feed 5 hungry children by getting your copy of The Unemployed Millionaire here: http://www.mattmorris.com/book! You’ll also receive over $2,000 in bonus personal development education!

Matt, thanks for the "Strangest Secret"- Jesus was indeed the greatest teacher. The subject of faith (acting on what you believe) is truly the greatest lesson anyone needs to learn after giving their life to Jesus. God has given us the GREATEST secret of ALL to good success and prosperity. Thank you for shedding light on our path once again!
  • Matt, Thanks for introducing me to the strangest secret, years ago in SU. On my blog at YourSuccess.ca, I've got a list of 19 different things to start the new year off right.
  • Thank you for the help with goal setting especially as it is time to review the past year and plan for the 2010. Listening to Mr Nightingale helped me think with motivation.
Thank you Matt for all your support. I appreciate all you do.
  • Please see above comment

    Hello Matt,

Thank you for sharing that video with me, it is just what I needed to get me started in 2010.

May Gog continue to bless and enrich you and your family.

Its good to hear, how can I do it too

Thanks, Matt, you are truly helping change the way the world thinks. I am 69 years old and have just gotten my first lead management, auto responder program to promote my new network marketing business. I just ran across Jim Rohn's Goals Workshop that I had saved on my computer when you gave it to us in that "other" business, so my tutor is awaiting my attendance faithfully in my own computer. How handy! No excuses!
  • I had the good fortune to be given this tape in 1992 from a networking business(that will remain nameless...)unfortunitaly I didn't act on the info or listen intently at the time...but with age comes wisdom and now I apprehiate it
  • A very insprirational video. Earl Nightingale is among the greats in motivational messages. I have his teaching series, "Lead The Field."

Matt your book is of the chain guy, but I'm holding on, LOL!!!

    Hi Matt:
I originally listened to "The Strangest Secret" as a 45 record while stationed at Ft. Hood Tx.in 1955 while in the discharge process. I was trying to decide what to do for the rest of my life.
I made up my mind to go into sales. Here is where it led me. I'm 76 yrs.old, married 54 yrs.(to the same woman) We had 5 kids (all college grads)lived on Lake Minnetonka
Minnesota for 42 yrs. in the same house. I ccan honestly tell you " The Strangest Secret" was the greatest influence in my life. It helped me tremendously and I still listen to it occasionally to keep me focused. It is a classic that is still being used today as a base by motivational speakers.
  • What a great story John - thanks so much for sharing. Congratulations on an amazing life. I can only imagine the impact you've had on all of those in your life.

    God Bless
    Matt
  • Thanks Matt for this wonderfull and inspirational video. It gave me lots to think and focus on. It enforces that a mans thoughts are his greatest assets in achieving his goals in life.

Once again thank you and all the best for 2010.

    Thanks for that Matt.
  • Thanks Matt for sharing. This is a journey everyone must go on. It starts in the mind. As Earl indicated everything we need is free. Free will is in our thoughts. It is truly scripture that says "As a man thinketh so is he..." Your thoughts create your reality, your reality is what you live...Are you truly living your reality today?
  • Hey Matt, that was a great video on goal setting Earl Nightingale is right on the money. You remind me of Goerge Wallace Comedian on the Las Vegas strip he is very giving and so are you it will come back to you.

    Hi Matt,

Todays strangest secret video was amazing. Earl Nightingale is spot on when he mentions that most people conform and are like robots from age 25-65. This is really sad. Great timing with goals I am up to chapter 6 in your book and are setting 2010 goals this evening. It is so much fun dream building and goal setting. Looking forward to working with you towards freedom. Have a fantastic New Years Eve in the US. Here in NZ we are camping with a big bonfire as it is Summer and hot.

    Cheers

  • Hello Matt,
Had a few challenges health wise in 2009, but so have a lot of others. I have a passion, which my job of work caters for. My job is market research and my passion is my love of people. Every day I am in awe at what they do and how kind and generous they can be.
I need to buy your book and heed the words of Earl Nightingale as I am looking for enormous success in my very special business in 2010. I hope to be able to talk to you at some time, it would be an honour. I am forever looking to understand more about myself.
May the new year be the sweetest and happyest you have ever had.
    Many Thanks Alex Hoskins
  • Great article, lots of intersting things to digest. Very informative
  • This video was awesome!!! If anyone wants to look farther into the pangs of conformity, I would highly suggest reading "Self Reliance" by Ralph Waldo Emerson... http://www.emersoncentral.com/selfreliance.htm

Also, we have to beware of people who want to work against those seeking success. Misery loves company, doesn't it? Here is a movie I would also suggest..."The Fountainhead"

Here is a glimpse at it's best scene.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc7oZ9yWqO4

Matt, thank you for sharing this! I needed to listen to this right about now:)
  • Susan, I was impressed meeting you and talking to you on the phone... now I'm even more impressed. You can often judge one's depth and character by the books they've read. Good to know what has influenced you to become such an amazing woman.

I read The Fountainhead at age 21 and it, along with Atlas Shrugged, changed my life. Love the video - thank you for sharing.

Earl Nightengale, the first, best...and still the champion. If ANYONE out there has an original version of "Lead The Field," I've been looking for one. Back in 1984, it tripled my sales volume in thirty days and changed forever my view of the world by giving me eyes to see things clearly and productively and in proper perspective. Is it any wonder that the project I hold upmost in my heart is called "The Acres Of Diamonds Film Ranch," a project designed to help people make their film/tv dreams come true easier and faster!!...? If you don't know the "A. of D." true story, you AND your whole family should. Look at your feet people--what are you standing on?
  • You can check out http://www.nightingale.com which is where I got my copy of Lead the Field years ago.

Love Acres of Diamonds... I sold tens of thousands of that CD from my last company.
  • Years ago the warehouse told me they had no copies of the original version--in version two they Earl put in a mention of other products and a change of mind on one subject that did not compute with me. It's hard to leave your mind open when these things are stuck in between the gold. Someone has an original somewhere--I'll find it one day!
  • Awesome video Matt!

I found this video fun and motivational

    Hi Matt

Thanks for the inspirational messages. They are so motivating. I look forward to more as it helps me with my journey to success. I am awaiting your book; It should arrive any day now. Now is the time to reflect and sit down and plan a wonderful year! Have a fabulous year and I'll see it at the top.
  • Wow... that was really powerful, and what a wonderful reminder. Great timing, thanks for sharing!
  • This was right on time Matt. I just got a CD of the strangest secret about 1 week ago and I have listened to it at least once a day. I can't get enough. Also I just began reading your book yesterday and jusy finished chapter 1. I'll go straight to 5 today. This has been my best year ever so far but 2010 is going to be my breakthrough year. Thanks for your inspiration. Hope to meet you soon.

    Fired Up and Focused,

    Glenn

    Hi Matt,

Thank you for sharing this - goal setting is a very important thing everyone should do for both immediate and long term gratification and benefits. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and abundant new year!
Keep the inspirational messages coming - they are truly motivational. I appreciate them.
    Take care,
Your friend in Corpus Christi Texas - Cheryl
  • Yes Matt this time of year people like to set new goals for the new year ahead.

The tool I use to set my own goals is my iPhone. Only today I was adding goals for 2010 to my note. On my iPhone!

Your book is awesome in my top 5 books of all time! :-)
  • I find that this is a very timely motivational blog on goal setting. It is that time of year that most of us mull over what we did last year and what we want for the next.

I find that what is covered here is very good and will be put to use in my own goal setting for 2010.

    Thanks

Have a Happy and Prosperous NEW YEAR!!!

    Bright Blessings for TheTiny1
