The Unemployed Millionaire Show: Episode 13

One of the ways our personal beliefs are shaped is through what we experience in life.

If you ever played on the monkey bars as a child, then you know that you had to let go in order to move forward. The same thing is true with painful experiences in life and in business – you have to let go in order to move forward.

This episode of The Unemployed Millionaire Show and this post are entirely dedicated to teaching you strategies you can use to help you let go of painful life experiences in order to reach success.

Our belief system is so strongly shaped by our experiences because every life experience is forever deposited in our subconscious mind which shapes our identity. Unconsciously, we often use the outcome of previous life experiences as proof elements for what we will experience in the future.

For example, if you’ve experienced great success in business, then you are likely to see yourself as a successful entrepreneur and will likely continue to experience success in future endeavors.

Unfortunately, the same is likely to be true if you’ve ever experienced failure.

But, I have great news… What separates those who fulfill their potential from those who don’t has nothing to do with past failures. In fact, some of the most successful people in the world actually have more failures than the rest.

Take me for example. Although I am an Unemployed Millionaire today, my first experience as an entrepreneur was not success. I ended up  in debt and had to lay off valuable employees that were actually some of my closest friends. At that time, I had to decide whether I wanted to label myself as a failure in business or celebrate the experience and use the knowledge I gained from the experience to become a strong leader in business.

As you can see, I chose the latter and I strongly encourage you to do the same… Have you overcame negative experiences to shape a future of success? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

    Matt!

I just want to thank you for being a constant reminder & model of the power of personal development.

I’ve been really focused on my beliefs and creating them into forces to propel me to where I want to go…

Your series here is PERFECT timing for me and I’ve always appreciated all of the knowledge I’ve gleaned from you in the past 2.5 years.

I’m reflecting back on 2.5 years ago, before I joined SU, when I just knew you as some young looking kid wearing a suit on a sales page…

These 2.5 years have been FILLED with failures…sprinkled with successes. I’m VERY grateful for that as “failure is the fertilizer to success”! – Denis Waitley :)

Anyway…thanks for everything Matt!…keep these awesome videos coming!

Good evening Matt, after watching your episode 12 i went back and started to re-read chapter 3 in your book, this time with my highlighter, which I did not have on my first read.

Your book and your life experience are great inspiration. I can look back on my many failures and how I choose to learn from them and become a better person as a result.

Being an entrepreneur, I sometimes get a little down when things don’t pan out as planned, but as you say “learn” from the set back and use it for what not to do next time, or better yet, use the experience to do IT better next time.

    Keep it coming!

I have had both good and bad success online and I learned to focus on what you want and not on what you don’t want.

    This is crucial.

    Hi Matt,
thank’s for you encouragenment. I strongly believe that every failure do make us stronger and more successful, only problem is that many people give up too quick. After all we are programed for success and failure is something that does not have space in our life, if we not straightaway successful we are labeled as loosers

I remembered when i first ventured into internet marketing, i spend lots of tie writing many articles but yet unable to make a single cent.

But i persisted, write more articles than ever instead of giving up making money online because I know one day i will make a sale.

More months went ahead without a sale and I finally make a huge 1 day profit after 6 long months…. I know that day will definitely come, it’s only a matter of time.

Thanks Matt for this wonderful reminder!!
