Never Judge a Book By Its Cover and Other Inspirational Life Lessons
DailyOM: Learning to Live Review
I know this post was titled with a cheesy old adage, but it is such a true statement…
Recently, I found out that the co-creator of DailyOM.com, Madisyn Taylor, is releasing her second book, DailyOM: Learning to Live on February 16, 2010. Personally, I’ve never been big on meditation, et cetera, and from the title, I assumed this book would be focused primarily on practicing meditation.
And quite honestly, I’ve never been more wrong in my life…
DailyOM: Learning to Live is an absolute must read!! Madisyn truly created the closest thing to an instruction manual for life that shares how to create healthy relationships, how to deal with sorrow and pain, how to reach our goals, and more.
Here are a few of my favorite life lessons from DailyOM:Learning to Live:
- You can’t fully heal from past life experiences unless you are 100% honest with yourself. When we aren’t honest with ourselves, how can we be fully honest and present with others?
- When you embrace the good, bad, and ugly within you – others will too.
- Anything worth doing in life will have some fear attached to it. Those are the experiences we need to overcome in order to move on to the next level or stage in life.
- The first step to change is realization and awareness.
- The simple shift from working out of fear to working out of love can have the effect of altering our existence without requiring us to change anything.
Those are just a tiny fraction of the lessons I gained from reading this book…
In summary, I absolutely recommend reading this book! The best part is, Madisyn is giving away the first 45 pages of the book here: Download 45 Pages of DailyOM: Learning to Live.
