An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Lifestyle Freedom: Episode 18

Last week, my wife and I stayed at an amazing all-inclusive resort during our vacation… It was the second month in a row we’ve been on a vacation in Cancun, Mexico!! I feel extremely blessed to be able to say that.

But here’s the thing… I want you to be able to say that, too! In fact, one of my main reasons for writing The Unemployed Millionaire and creating this show was to share the exact road-map I used to reach success so that anybody who wants this kind of lifestyle can go out and get it.

In this episode, I share one of the main differences between the wealthy and unwealthy. This wealth principle is surprisingly simple and an imperative part of reaching success…

To achieve complete financial freedom and complete time freedom, you MUST choose a career that will at least give you the opportunity to create a dream lifestyle!

Most men and women fall into a career path that has benefits and a salary with a ceiling. Meaning after they reach a certain income level/work for a certain length of time – they max out the vacation package and the amount of money they can make.

I’m not any smarter or more creative than any other 34 year old guy. (And I definitely did not have a trust fund or an inheritance or anything like that…)  I just chose to invest my time and energy into a career that gave me the opportunity to achieve complete time and money freedom.

You can do the exact same thing! Just take a minute to weigh out the opportunities that your current career path is leading you to…

If you truly want the Unemployed Millionaire lifestyle, you must be willing to seek out careers that will give you the opportunity to set your own schedule and become financially free!

  • Hi Matt,
People want to remain in their comfort zones, they are haunted by unknown fear to start a new direction that leads to financial freedom. It take courage for someone to take the route you have taken.
You are a source of inspiration! This gives me strength and motivation to continue climbing the mountain until I will reach the top..)

    Thank you

  • On point again Matt,

A lot of people think that working a job and/or playing the lottery, gambling, etc..., is gonna bring them their big payday. I understand people have dreams, but in order for them to come true, they have to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

Great information as usual ~ Matt !

Just a comment to 'The Emotion Machine'...and I'm smiling to. Blasphemy it is NOT !, as so many do not pursue their dreams / succeed because their brains have been programed with negative statements from childhood. They were restricted from doing things that they knew they were capable of doing, by well meaning people that wanted to protect them from the big bad world / making the wrong descisions [out of love and concern] or down right bullied by others that were jealous / condensing / dream crushers. Met any on your journey in life ~ thus far?
Being blessed with parents who didn't always say / do the right things, I found out after becoming one, that they did their best ~ with the resources and 'JOB' they had in raising their children.
Through many Teachers / Mentors through my life journey, I remember the seeds of encouragement / time they planted within me, through the rough years.
Matt, as one who is out there sharing his success story / testimony, so others will pull themselves up by the 'boot straps', is something that is accepted or shunned...which boils down to individual choice.
I chose to take a student position, to learn from one among many, who have the blueprint to success.
Taking risk / chances in life is a gamble, and some hone in the skills they are gifted with, while others take the path of staying 'Average.'
The song by 'Abba' Take A [Chance] On Me, was one I would play over and over again, in my mind, before going for a 'JOB' interview, as I memorized many lyrics from a variety of tunes / successful artist. Ooophs, giving away my age here [but], just saying that unlearning the things [negative] we have been feed, and relearning positive ~ is the key to living in a lifestyle of freedom and endless choices. Money makes the world go round, and try buying a ticket to paradise ~ without anyway.

  • I started to think about doing business when I was caught up in the dot com bust years ago.

I started asking myself if I want to leave my career to my employers who may retrench me anytime they want or I want to decide how to live my life according to my own terms....

When you realize that the rat race is too much for you, you will be motivated to get out of it.

Either you take risk or be at risk, it's your choice!

  • It's a FACT of LIFE-
YOU CAN't Get RICH Working for other People matter how much they PAY YOU!!!
  • Brilliant Matt

Belief is crucial and working and being around other successful people is important.

Keep going and never give up all the best

  • Hi Matt,

You know most people have such a fear of failure that they SETTLE.

They settle for a SECURE job, and do not take the necessary RISK to reach for their true potential or at least give themselves a chance to have a great career that will allow them some degree of enjoyment in their working life.

If I may, I'd like to recommend the book entitled, Caught Between A Dream And A Job, by Delatorro McNeal II. It speaks to the specifics of the subject of a dream career and a job.

Life is to short to just settle.

    Thanks,

    Willie
  • Great! I'm reminded of the process of taking what you love - what is your gift - and what is the market wanting - intersecting circles diagram. This thought of choosing a path that allows for unlimited wealth is an important part of that third circle. Thanks for the reminder!
  • You mean to be wealthy we actually have to give ourselves a chance? Blasphemy! :)

But seriously, great video! I'm going to Cancun later this year - it'll be my first time.
