The Unemployed Millionaire Show: Why You MUST Write a Bucket List

An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Lifestyle Freedom: Episode 19

Last week during my vacation to Cancun, I had the opportunity to see Chichen Itza which is one of the 7 Wonders of the World!  I was thrilled to spend a Tuesday afternoon exploring another one of the 7 Wonders of the World!

Seeing all 7 Wonders of The World is a high priority on my bucket list and now I’m up to 3! One of the main reasons I now have the ability to explore the world on a Tuesday afternoon instead of sitting in an office is because of my ability to dream…

An Author, who remains anonymous, once said this:

“You will never live life beyond your wildest expectations until you
first have some wild expectations.”

This quote has had a lasting impact in my life over the years. I seriously would not be where I am today had I not developed the ability to dream BIG!

I can’t overemphasize the importance of having a powerful dream – after all, dreams are the fire that fuel desire! One of the secret characteristics of successful people is that they just want it so bad they can’t stand it. That desire for success is what will propel you to the top.

One of the secrets for creating a desire that just doesn’t quit is to create a lifetime dream list/bucket list that you read every single day! So this weekend, I want you to create a “Dream List” of at least 100 things you want to do while you’re still alive.

I created my list when I was 24 years old and it still sits at the very front of my planner that I use on a daily basis. When I started my list, I honestly couldn’t even imagine some of these dreams as possible, but because I put them on paper, I took the first step to turning those dreams into my reality.

To help get you started on your dreams list and to prove that anything is possible, I’m going to share a few of the things I put on my dreams list 10 years ago that have become a reality for me:

  1. Go on an African Safari
  2. Cruise the Mediterranean
  3. Walk on Fire
  4. Write a Book and become a best-selling author (The Unemployed Millionaire)
  5. Become scuba certified
  6. Scuba dive with sharks (I’ve been diving with sharks in Bora Bora and South Africa!)
  7. Relax on a beach in Tahiti
  8. Visit the top of the Eiffel Tower (I proposed to my amazingly beautiful wife there!)
  9. Vacation in Hawaii
  10. Go Bungee Jumping (Check out Episode 5 of The Unemployed Millionaire Show!)

Okay, so those are just a few of the experiences I’ve had because I created my dreams list… Now I want you to go start your dreams list (or add to it) and don’t stop until you have at least 100 dreams written down!

P.S. I’d love to hear what your bucket list items are so let’s talk about it in the comments section below!

      Love it!

Due to our son and his family and World Ventures, we took a trip to Cancun this past July – we also went to Chichen Itza. Looks like the weather was great for you. We got a nice thunderstorm right as our tour was beginning and had to buy raincoats from the vendors there. But, it didn’t dampen our spirits at all. We loved it and honestly we didn’t even realize it was one of the seven wonders of the world. At 69 and 70 years old, we made our first “out of the US” trip – we’ve traveled very little in the states. So it was a thrill. Yep, we must get busy on that bucket list. We may not have as many years ahead of us as you do. Smile! Doris & Les

I have ONE thing on my list

    1. Find a woman that isn’t crazy to be in love and have a relationship with.

Everything else has been done, but this seem impossible.

Go back to Paris France and go to where I lived many years ago.
    See San Francisco and Alaska
    Go to Hawaii

    Matt,
Did you know that Chichen Itsa is now known to be the first “sound recording” ever made? A couple of years ago, I was listening to NPR, and these scientists came on saying that they discovered that just about any sound made at the bottom of the inside of the pyramid is bounced thru the hallways until it comes out the top sounding like the call of the bird the pyramid is named after! They did computer comparisons to varify the effect.

That makes sense. When we were there, you could clap and you’d hear the echo all the way from the top. Very Cool!

So everytime from now on that you “record” something, you’ll know that you went to where it all started,…you’ve spanned the time of your “parent” industry, recorded media!

I did this a few weeks ago and it was fun and amazing. It even got my wife thinking about it too. I asked her to do it.

A big one on my list is to take a month or longer tour of Europe and snowboard in the Alps. My wife doesn’t like airplanes, so I figured out we’ll have to cruise over on the Queen Mary 2. I decided I’m going to take both of our parents and get a huge suite on the ship for all of us. Then tour Northern and central Europe.

I am going to Cancun and Chichen Itza in April of this year.

I am slowly getting the things from my “bucket list” and, yes, it does feel good.

Some people tell me I shouldn’t waste time, and should just do what I am planning on doing. But I have found that the smarter I work, taking the time to think things through, and then working hard at implementing them works best for me.

At 63, I am just enjoying working from home, and taking one day at a time, knowing that the things I need will come when I need them.

Thanks so much for your encouragement.

Build the home of my design debt free.

Have the income that I can go to what ever restaurant I want without concern for the menu price, stay at the find Hotels when I travel without concern for how many days or how to pay.

I desire and deserve the financial ability to share a good life with my family, friends, and those whom I choose, and teach others to do it also.

When I do these things If I desire to travel to different places around this globe I can, but I already know those places will be anticlimactic without those friends and family.
