An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Lifestyle Freedom: Episode 22

Over the last 14 years of my entrepreneurial career, I’ve built several million-dollar companies and lead well over 100,000 independent salespeople. I say this not to impress you, but to impress upon you just how many leaders I’ve been surrounded with over the last decade.

One thing I know for sure is that you don’t become successful before you become a great leader. You reap the benefits of success after you’ve already become a great leader.  If you’re really serious about reaching new levels of success, I can’t stress enough the importance of developing the leader within you first…

I’m blessed to say that not a day goes by that I don’t interact with an extraordinary leader. I’m constantly observing exactly what makes top leaders successful which allowed me to discover the 7 leadership laws that have become my guiding principles.

I’ve noticed that the people who don’t practice these principles have difficulty reaching success. The leadership laws I’ll be sharing with you over the next few days are not suggestions.

The 7 Leadership Laws from Chapter 7 of The Unemployed Millionaire and the upcoming Unemployed Millionaire blog posts must be followed 100% of the time if you want to achieve success as a leader.

I’d love to hear what lesson from the leadership series has been most valuable to you so far. Jot down a few notes from this episode of The Unemployed Millionaire and take a minute to look back over The Secret Character Trait of the World’s Most Successful People as well as How to Project Confidence; then be sure to share your answer in the comments section below!

P.S. Leadership is the most important quality to develop in order to become successful. Matt, thank you for that. This is a truth, that although many people cannot articulate it, it is manifest in several of the most successful institutions. The US Army is a good example. When I graduated from PLDC (leadership training to become a non-commissioned officer, they made sure we knew that we had the received the ability to lead during the training. They had several tactics to make sure we truly believed and were confident enough to lead. We really didnt have any great special knowledge that gave us this ability, but most NCO's possess the confidence to lead, and do so regardless of the lack of formal knowledge.
It works, and you are absolutely correct.
    Again, thank you!

    Hi Matt

There are so many things that motivate me and drive me on in a force of accelerated power and determination
Many of the millionaires and successful people in this life have at one time been in a poverty situation or a time in their lives that they have known hardship and distress and it is this determined effort to change their lives for the better, to turn their life around and never go back to those bad hard days that drive them on in greatness, effort and determination, in a power packed positive way
Personally I love taking situations of distress or hardship and turning it inside out, upside down and finding the goodness in that situation and coming back harder and stronger than before to drive my life forward
An example to this is that I looked after my wife for 20 years with a terminal illness until she passed away in 1992
Now! Every time life has a habit of slapping me in the face like a wet fish I get up and come back stronger than ever with a power positive force of energy..... For I am now! Building the rest of my life in her memory and name and this! Is my driving force in life?

The fact is that when we have the right mindset, determination, and ability and as long as we keep heading in the right direction, one foot at a time, and taking our dreams and setting them into achievable stepping stones, then we can move Mountains
God parted the waters.... and we move the Mountains

    Kind regards

Hi Matt, brilliant, thks very much,
  • Thanks again Matt for your snippets. They are timely and act as a great big poke in the ribs to remind me what I should be doing and how I should be acting all the time.

I find and feel that it is more important that many people take in your wonderful teaching
than in my own feelings, so that WE ARE the next Leaders to help many more still.
    Thanks

    Hi Matt,

I listened to your 7 Secrets audio again and I wanna ask you this burning question.

This is probably the question in all your reader's mind as well in our pursuit of success.

    Secret #1 Dream big

    Question:

How do I dream big when I am hardly feeling abundant? Those days when you were showering in kiosks and sleeping in your "beat up Honda" (6'5" body in a japanese car... can't imagine), how do you get the confidence to dream those dreams?

My internal b.s. detector kicks in and puts me in even more misery!

And did u sit down with Rhonda to dream those million dollar homes when you were dead broke?

How do I convince my wife to sit down and dream with me when all she sees is someone not "making things work" so far?

I eagerly wait for your advice on this. My FB and blog subscribers would benefit too.

    Cheers,

    Hi Perry,

Nice to meet a Singaporean here...

i have went through the same problems of dreaming big....

.. every time I write my dreams/goals down, I feel lifted up
and good... but when i went back to do my usual work/routine....
my mind says... "Can you really make it? ... blah..."

It took me a long time to get out of this trap.... and the only
thing i do when i detect this negative stuff.... I start listening/reading
to motivational stuff... by people who have make it....

and then i ask myself: "if they can make it despite the hell they
go through, why not me? ...

You just need to find the confidence from any sources that
will uplift you... anything that put you down, make you feel
low.... stop doing that and start doing things that will put you back into
    your dream/goals path....

You are the only one who can write your own story... nobody
else can do it for you!

    Blessings,
    Thomas Hoi

THanks Thomas. That was a valuable reminder. i'll do that. Do you have recommendation on what you listen/read to recharge like you mentioned?
  • thomashoi
Put all the audio files given by Matt when you sign up for the bonuses into your mp3 player, listen till you can get them all in your head. The one that i like best is the interview with Johnny Wimbrey....

Get an amazon kindle and download these books:
    1. The 4 hour workweek
    2. the Umemployed millionaire
    3. The strangest secret to success
    4. goals and Proven Strategy for success
    5. You Call the Shots by Cameron Johnson
    6. Donald Trump books
    7. Michael Dell books
    8. bill Gates books

These should keep you busy for sometime....

Like what Matt says: "Repetition is the mother of Success!"

Read and re-read until you get it!

Read their success stories whenever you feel down.

    Hi Matt,
I found this on facebook, but it didn't come through to my email. Did you email it out, or maybe there is a lag? hopefully it is OK, but since there is only one comment I wonder if it went out properly.
I'm looking forward to this series. Being confident goes right along with saying "I am". Its working for me.
  • Great video Matt,

You hit it right on the head with this one. I am looking forward to learning as much as I possibly can about leadership and know you are the person that can make that happen.
