An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Lifestyle Freedom: Episode 29

The first time I read Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, I paid close attention to finding the secret Napoleon mentions in Chapter One. I realized after re-reading Think and Grow Rich a couple of times, the secret is different for everyone who reads Think and Grow Rich.

For me, the secret turned out to be Leadership Law 7 which is Persistence and Determination…

In my first two to three years as an entrepreneur, I wound up $30,000 in debt and homeless. I experienced many sleepless nights in which I wondered if I was even cut out for a career as an entrepreneur. But ultimately, I knew that I knew that I knew, what my purpose in life is.

So I persisted, despite my failures and made it over the hump to create an amazing life. Alot of future Unemployed Millionaires consistently ask questions like: “How did you get where you are today?” “What made you decide to keep on going when you had absolutely nothing in the bank?”

The key is persistence and determination. I immersed myself in positive environments by listening to personal development audios and read personal development books constantly.

There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that if other people had become successful entrepreneurs, I could do it too. Once you develop that kind of certainty and decide that you will stop at nothing to become successful, you’ll be well on your way to success as an entrepreneur.

Because I didn’t give up, I haven’t had to think about money in years, because it’s just not a concern.

Here’s what’s important about a true leader: A true leader will always find a way over, around, or through any challenge that arises and will do whatever it takes to be a winner.

Successful people do what unsuccessful people are unwilling to do. Winners in life just don’t give up. Winners will never, ever let anyone steal their dream!

    Dear Matt!

Great videos! I like the last one (#7) the most because it´s so true. It is really interesting the way you speak about history and its impact and importance. In your case I beleive that you have been able to erase your personal history and create a new one based upon your big dreams. That is admirable!

I´m also happy to hear about a second baby on its way. Blessings to your wife.

    Take care and God bless,

    Kourosh

Thank you so much for this! It came at a time when I needed to hear it. You are very passionate and inspiring. I will miss the videos. I have HUGE dreams and sometimes it gets overwhelming and I feel like just giving it – like it would be easier. But when I do give up for a while – it is not easy, it makes me feel worse. That keeps me once again focused and directed to fulfill my dreams.
Once again – thank you! I have ordered your book and am looking forward to reading it.

Hi Matt great video once again. You really knocked it out the park with this one. I am in a real financial rut at the moment and keep questioning my ability as to whether I can become a leader and build the business that I want to build. Listening to your story and countless other entrepreuneurs stories keeps me going forward no matter how hard and tough it gets I'll never quit. My daughter is 3 years old. There is so much I want for her and she is my biggest WHY! amongst other things. Thank you for your consistency with your content and love what your doing within WV. See you a the top

    Hi Matt

You’re so right, I have mentioned on previous comments how people who face poverty and hardship make a determined effort to change their lives and to drive their life on in a positive driving force of fury and to never go back to those hard sad times
Everyone has their personal story to tell of hardship and problems but not everyone has the knowledge or ability to turn those hardships upside down and inside out into positive power packed successful situations
As from a famous quote of Winston Churchill…. Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in
As long as we keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep going in the right direction, then nothing can stop us, even when we have our fantastic dreams of the future that may seem out of reach, as long as we can change those dreams into achievable stepping stones and take one step at a time then we can do anything; anything at all
If you can walk, you can build your dreams one step at a time
When man landed on the Moon Neil Armstrong quoted …..One step for man, one giant step for mankind
I have a one way ticket to the future and things are looking good so I’m building stepping stones as high as the sky…. One step at a time

    Keep smiling

    Hey Matt,

Really enjoyed your book and this video series. I too read Think and Grow Rich and “looked for the secret” I thought it was,” your always in control”. Yours is true too.
After 18 years of working in the same industry I have recently started my entrepreneur life. I actually walked out of my job, it was one of those moments when I had said just couldn't do it anymore. The one thing I tell people about being an entrepreneur, is I don't feel trapped anymore, like I have to consistently impress someone to keep my job. I have had serveral bosses that would “lord” the job over me, consistently threating to fire me, or say corporate is going to downsize us, it was always an environment of fear. Now I feel like I have control, if I make money this week its because I did something, if I don't it's because I didn't. Sure there is still stress and sometimes I think i'm crazy for leaving such a well paying job, but at this point I really love the freedom. I can't wait to be able to travel around the world, set on my backporch and stare at the ocean, be able to spend time with family. Thanks for the resource, I have learned a lot from your book.

    thanks,
    Brian
