Motivational Monday #35

This week’s Motivational Monday video is unlike any video I’ve ever posted on The Unemployed Millionaire Blog. (It’s so out of the ordinary that I almost chose another topic and video entirely!)

That being said, this video flawlessly illustrates many hugely important life and business lessons. Frankly, I feel as though I’d be doing you an injustice if I didn’t share this video with you so hit the play button now…

Lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly.

I love how the video opens by explaining that, like all butterflies, the Monarch’s life cycle is entirely composed of a series of tiny changes that lead to a radical transformation. A Monarch’s metamorphosis happens only because they’re constantly making  sensational changes in their habits which lead to their breathtaking shifts in appearance.

Likewise, we can radically transform every single aspect of our life by making it a habit to consistently take actions that move us closer to success. Longstanding success in life is created by following through with many tiny changes along the way.

Immediately after baby caterpillars emerge from their shell, they return to consume the wholesome and supplemental exterior. After devouring the nutrient-rich shell, baby caterpillars gorge themselves with milkwood leaves. They innately know that the nutrients in shells and milkwood leaves will make it easier for them to transition seamlessly through the next phases of their metamorphosis.

In the same degree that nutrients are essential for baby caterpillars as they move through the final phases of metamorphosis, education and personal development are quintessential supplements for people that want to achieve extraordinary success in business and in life.  Scheduling at least 30 minutes of reading time every day is an excellent way to begin your own metamorphosis.

What lessons have you learned from the lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly? Share them below in the comments section!

“the caterpillar did not eat enough”
so the juices for the wings are in short supply.
Who will pump the juices for the caterpillar to take flight?

  • Chicohrsanchez

I wonder if the caterpillar is conscious of it’s change and if it’s painful. I guess it doesn’t fight the change and perhaps that makes the process easier. Likewise, if we didn’t fight the changes necessary in our lives, we would make our changes easier. As the saying goes, “let go and let God.”

    • Marvin

I agree, that´s what is happening with my life.

      God bless you all!

Life is full of changes. To reach a dream, one must face the challanges and never give up hope.
The end results is a dream come true. Believe in yourself to be a leader in order to lead others to fly with you.

  • Irenenewcombe

Isn’t God wonderful, to come up with so many varied types of life, each type of creation assisting the survival of another. Each with it’s own ‘built in’ instinct for what it must do to live.

We can learn an awful lot from them. There are possibly untold thousands of cures for various ailments and sickness’s which plague our race, God put them there for our benefit, to help us. In order to accomplish that, we must all live in harmony with each other and nature, respect each other’s differences, share our knowledge for the benefit of everyone.

The planet as well as ourselves, would be far better off if we lived a simpler lifestyle, closer to God and nature.

No god did’nt! it’s evolution. quit evoking god or some fantasy. it’s just pure evolution sped-up for you non-beleivers in evolution.

      • Prosperouschoices

Thank you, You helped me to see that you think that people who believe in God are non believers in evolution.
In fact the opposite is true for me, I believe that God has a purpose for evolution just as each metamorphosis from egg to butterfly serves its purpose.
How delighted that caterpillar must be to discover the fullness of it’s destiny when it transcends it’s time as a caterpillar if that was all it thought was possible.

To achieve full growth, the caterpillar NEVER looked back & MOANED over anything in his PAST….the ONLY objective was GROWTH so it could not let anything interfere with its development :) it was not the way how it started that counted in the end, but how it finished :)
    Ray ;)

  • Brian

Thanks Matt, it’s a great reminder of how we all start relatively small and must honor the process of growth, through proper ‘feeding’ and multiple sheddings of ‘old skin’ throughout our various stages of life, to transform into what we were created and designed to do. Love the analogy, look forward to more..thanks for all you do!

  • Anna

The miracle of life… wondrous to observe every single time… leaving me personally at awe!

And yes, so many lessons to be learned… we all have the ability to change and adapt to our new realities, to transform our selves from a tiny caterpillar, small and invisible to the eye to mouth-dropping beautiful creatures that can take ones breath away!!!

I think change is a constant in life but it is how we respond to it that causes us pain or not. If we fight it, it’s usually because we fear the pain of the unknown If you are unhappy or unfulfilled in life, change is the only way out.
Best way is to learn to become comfortable with it so that it is a friend and ally. Learn to become the cause of it rather than the effect.
