Our Deepest Fear…

Motivational Monday #27


This video is tremendously motivating to me; as is this poem by Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our
darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to
be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your
playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel
insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to
make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just
in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light
shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to
do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our
presence automatically liberates others.”

One of my mentors once told me that fear is nothing but False Evidence Appearing Real.

    Matt I thank you for this poem, it is as you said so very inspiring and motivating. Life has taught me alot and brought me in someway to an understanding of the meaning behind this poem. Thanks again for reminding me, that our biggest fear is our ourselves. Nothing and noone can take away who you are, unless you give them the permission to do it.
    We are fearfull of being left on our own if we give our utmost and become the persons we were meant to be. We fear the ‘new me’ since it could be perceived or looked at in a different way by others. And also fear if we’ll be strong enough to survive it till the end!!
    Remembering though that our light ‘automatically liberates others’ is the strongest phrase I have ever came across… God bless you x

    I can’t tell you the timing on this message. I’ve actually been meaning to call you this week, but haven’t for the fear of asking for help. I’m not sure if you remember me, I met you last Sept in Arizona. I’ve been in the business for a year and haven’t done anything and haven’t gotten any results. I’ve been reluctant to opt out, because that means I’ve given up. And as we both know, it’s not just quitting a “job” but quitting on our dreams.

    Then, I read this post. And you are right, it’s my power that scares me. I know that I can do great things for this planet and have shrunk back. I’ve sought for guidance and coaching, but they always seem to fall through.

    I’m going to Dallas this weekend for a seminar, but was hoping that I could set a time to talk with you. Perhaps, when I return? I have to do something! My problem is that I love life and have become comfortable. I’ve become comfortable with mediocrity! AHHHHH!!!

    I strongly means that this is not something you can learn from a book or somthing.
    Best way to become a better you, is to take a good look at yourself in the mirror every morning, talk to your self and tell that you are great and you can do it. Then you must go outside your comfort sone and just do it.
    There is no book in the world that will walk for you, you must do the walk your self. That`s it.
    Maybe you dont succede at once, but by trail and error you wil grow and become this person you want to be.
    Set your goal and work it every day, bit by bit you WILL get there.

    This poem is very enlightening. I once wrote a poem called ‘Shine your light’, God gave me the words. It’s true though that we shrink when we face adversity or fear. We’re afraid to step up to the plate and be all that we can be for fear that we will bring attention to ourselves. We need to remind ourselves that God is on our side and there fighting the battle with us. Be brave enough to step through that fear and keep going, it only makes us stronger for the next time. Don’t only talk the talk but walk the walk. The walking is much harder but gets easier with each step. So stay enlightened, keep God in your heart, pray often, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

    This poem is fantastic… I remember reading it in my early days in the military… I think that is why as a “Chief” in the U.S. NAVY I was always able to help the younger and new personel. I had been there and came to realize that they were a true reflection of who I had become as a “CHIEF”. My goal was to educate and train them so that they could take over when I left. It was a Happy yet sad feeling to realize when I retired I was leaving what had become my life and identity. Yet I knew the people I was leaving in charge would take care of what I had come to know and trust during my military career… that was the people. And YES!! Fear is just that… False Evidence Appearing Real. Everyday is a blessing from GOD, we make our own destiny…
