WOW! This story embodies so many nuggets of value and wisdom I don’t even know where to start!
I think the top 3 inspiring and most valuable lessons we can get from Ben are:
Once you make a true decision to do something, other peoples opinions, other peoples doubts, and other peoples discouraging words will be repelled by your powerful decision to do what you want to do. And what you’ll find is, over time when people see you are committed to your own success, they will shift and become supportive anyway because you’re confidence will curb their own fears.
And this is achieved by making a true authentic decision.
Why is mindset so important? Because your mind will quit LONG before your true ability does. Your mind will look for every reason to quit when the going gets tough telling you that you don’t have enough, strength, or courage, or ability but the truth is, you have more, A LOT more than you think.
You MUST have a powerful mindset that doesn’t allow you stop moving towards your goals when you come up to an obstacle.
Having a powerful mindset is what empowers you to get back up EVERY time you “fall down”…
3. Compete against YOU and no one else!
Being competitive is powerful but never try to beat anyone or anything other than your previous best! That’s how you grow. That’s how you stay inspired. That’s how you create success without having doubt and animosity build up in your energy reserves.
Because the second you make it about beating someone else, you begin playing not lose versus playing to win.
In other words, when you approach your life with a fear of loss mentality instead of an eagerness to win and inspired mentality, there’s a funny thing that seems to happen ALWAYS! Fear of loss will always produce one thing…
But, when you compete against your best, and you produce better results than your last best, you get a flood of confidence, new found possibility, and motivation to do even better and you WIN every single time, no matter what the end results are or what anyone else around you is doing!
This is an inspiring story and I want to thank Ben for displaying an amazing amount of drive and courage and sharing these powerful lessons that apply to all of us and encourage him to continue being the amazingly awesome man he is!
