The Benefit Of A Mentor
When I first got into network marketing, I saw other people making it look so easy and I thought, “Man I wish I had that kind of skill!”
The part I didn’t see was the falling down they did before gaining that skill.
It’s a natural learning process. Any time you start something you’re going to be the worst you’ll ever be at it because each time you do it again and again, you gain skill and get better.
Very few people in this world can just jump into something an almost instantly be an expert. And that’s the exact reason most people get such a huge benefit of a mentor to help them.
The benefit of a mentor is, you get their experience guiding you through the pitfalls and spills shaving your learning curve by years sometimes. Another big benefit of a mentor is they will push you to get back up, keep pushing forward, and try again even after you fail.
And I was just reminded of the huge benefit of a mentor while checking off another bucket list item.
KITE SURFING! (It’s way harder than I thought it would be but just as awesome I suspected)
After falling 20 times in a row, getting beat up by the ocean, having salt water flood my mouth and throat to the point I was water logged, I finally thought in my mind, “Man… I’m DONE!”
But having the benefit of a mentor there saying, “Alright, let’s go another time!” made me do it try again and this time I was determined to get up and ride. I could feel it this time, I WAS going to get up!
And you know what? I fell AGAIN! LOL
And it was hurting and burning and honestly, it kind of sucked. But I just told myself I’m going to follow my own training and even though I don’t want to, I’m going to keep going and keep trying.
I’m going to use the benefit of a mentor and take his coaching.
And finally, I got up!
Because I wouldn’t quit, I wouldn’t give up, no matter how bad I wanted to, I had an incredible experience and I was able to get up my first day trying only because I had the benefit of a mentor to guide me through the “how to’s”, and encourage me to not stop trying.
Find a mentor! Keep going! Even if you think you’re never going go to “get up” or make it, keep going and never, ever quit!
If one man or woman can do it, so can you…
And always seek to use the benefit of a mentor or a guide or a coach and take the training they offer!
Don’t try and do it on your own if you don’t have to…
Make your life a life with purpose and full of adventure!
