How To Get Over The Fear of Rejection
One of the reasons why I struggled so long in network marketing was because I would only show the business to people I was pretty certain would enroll.
And I did this because I had the biggest fear in the world, the fear of rejection!
A lot of people say public speaking is the #1 fear in the world but it’s not. The fear of rejection is the biggest fear in the world.
And I was afraid of what people would say. If I didn’t think they’d get excited about it and enroll, I just would show them because that way, I didn’t have to face my fear of rejection.
See how that works? I had a massive fear of rejection, I only showed my opportunity to people I thought wouldn’t reject it, and it cut my chances of any kind of success down to about ZERO!
I made the lists. My up-line mentors would say hey make a list of everyone you know and I’d do that, but then I’d only show a handful of people because of that fear of rejection.
And that approach leads to one thing… failure!
So here’s how to get over the fear of rejection. Here’s what I want you to do.
Make the list! Show your opportunity to EVERYONE regardless of your opinion on whether they will sign up or not. (I promise you, people WILL surprise you)
DO NOT get attached to the outcome. No emotional attachment. You have one job, just educate them on what you’re doing.
That was my big breakthrough and when I really started to get over the fear of rejection.
So this is your homework…
Show your opportunity to at least 1 person in the next 24 to 48 hours who you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, they will never enroll in your opportunity!
You have to know that they are going to reject you.
And here’s why I want you to do this.
I want you to desensitize yourself from the “no” or the fear of rejection. I want you to experience it so that you realize, it’s not as bad as you think! Your fear of rejection is WAY bigger in your mind than anywhere else.
In fact, a lot of times the people who you know will never do it, refer you to someone who will!
So that’s your homework, go show your business to at leaf one person you know will never join, experience the actual reality of what the fear of rejection looks and feels like, and become aware that it’s FAR worse in your mind than it is in reality…
