Today, I’m going to give you one of the negative things you deal with every so often as a top leader in MLM.
It used to piss me off.
Now, I just laugh it off and realize it’s all part of the game.
So here’s what happened…
A week or so ago, I got a Facebook message from a guy I don’t know, as I do pretty much every day, asking if I’m free to talk.
He doesn’t say why he wants to talk so I just ignore it.
Then yesterday, I got another message from him saying he wants to work with me in my network marketing company, tells me how he’s earned millions of dollars, built huge teams, etc.
Something about the message makes me a little skeptical, but I always enjoy getting to know top leaders so I agree to a zoom.
We hop on and do the typical sharing of each other’s backgrounds. He proceeds to tell me he’s been part of this crypto currency investment MLM that got shut down, then another crypto deal that got shut down, then another and even another!
4 illegal ponzi schemes in a row!
Having been around the MLM block for 25 years, I tell him he’s lucky he’s not in prison right now because I personally know a few that are serving time right now for promoting illegal Ponzi schemes.
(I know, not exactly rapport building statements from El Mateo here but it’s the truth and I don’t want this guy to end up in prison)
He asks me a bunch of questions, appears to be excited, and says he’ll get back with me.
A few hours later, I got a message…
“Can your company handle $8 million a day in sales because that’s what my team will produce when I come on board”
I kind of laugh inside knowing that any time a leader puffs his chest like this it’s because they are full of “you know what”
I let him know we’ve done billions in sales and that’s no problem.
Next message:
“It will require an investment for some of my leaders to get going. If you can invest $100,000, we will get started and we will put in 10,000 people the first month.”
I literally laugh out loud.
I immediately answer back that I don’t operate that way. Zero signing bonuses. Zero up front money. The deal is the deal because that’s what works long term.
I wish him the best of luck not even trying to convince him to join without up-front money because I know he’s been sucked into the MLM Junkie Crackhead Vortex.
This vortex is a place where they’re just after the quick money fix and don’t have the mental stamina to build anything long term. With the mentality of a crackhead, they keep jumping from bad deal to bad deal chasing the next high never realizing that nothing good (or legal) comes from this downward spiral.
What’s the lesson in all this?
Probably just this…
Don’t get involved in illegal crypto currency Ponzi schemes and don’t be a MLM Junkie Crackhead.
