Quick Story: Why you have to keep it up…
A few years ago, I was going into a city to do an all day Saturday training. The market had been one of the company’s fastest growing in the country just a short while previous to this but it had seriously died off.
It wasn’t my organization so I didn’t know why they had gone backwards… but I quickly figured it out before the event even started.
I got there early to make sure everything was set up properly and I had some time to coach the emcee, host and the person running sound and video.
As people started coming into the room, the top leader entered the room looking depressed. Head down, no smile, and basically no energy. Throughout the training he was glued to his cell phone and at no point did he seem overly excited to be there.
I had met this leader multiple times. He was a really nice guy. Super personable and likable.
But it was obvious to me that the reason that the market’s production had died off was because the leader was violating what I consider to be a law of leadership.
Follow the Law of Leadership in MLM: The Law of INFLUENCE
That law is that you must always have an attitude superior to those that you lead.
You see, in network marketing, we are in the business of duplication. If your attitude is poor, that duplicates to your group. If you show up depressed, it literally robs your group of excitement because if the leader isn’t even excited, why should they be.
Let this be a huge lesson for you… If you want your group to be excited, YOU have to be excited. Always keep your attitude up when you’re around your team. If you’re depressed, sad, frustrated, etc., save it for when you’re not around your group… It’s a burden that we bear as leaders.
