Gonna share a quick leadership strategy that I guarantee has made me a greater leader in MLM.
I saw a network marketing company over 20 years ago that had a pretty weird compensation plan. Basically, your downline legs rotated every month. Essentially, you got paid different percentages each month based on your different groups. It was pretty wacky and the company was short lived.
It got me thinking about a crazy idea…
Leadership Training TIP: Lead Your Team Effectively so they will CHOOSE you all over again
What if, at the beginning of each month, your network marketing company would allow your downline to choose a new upline?
They could choose you again, or they could choose someone else on a totally different team.
Crazy idea right?
Obviously this would never happen as it would be totally unethical. People switching teams is called cross-sponsoring and is a major no-no and, honestly, a cancer that simply cannot be allowed.
But what if that were the case?
How much more effort would you put into supporting, training and leading your organization?
How much more of an effort would you put into the relationships you have with your leaders?
I’ll tell you, when I came up with this idea years ago, mentally, I decided I’d lead as if that were the case. It’s a huge reason why I was able to build such a strong and loyal team.
If you want to implement this mindset, put a note each week (or even every day) with this question:
Based on my leadership this week, would my team choose me all over again?
If the answer is no, step it up!
