Many people let problems and challenges stop them. Sometimes the challenges are real like health issues. Other times they’re overinflated drama like someone didn’t get enough cheese on their pizza!
Either way, real or not, peoples problems are very real to them. And problems and challenges are something we all face. What really matters is what you do with them and how you use them.
You can either let them take you out of the game or you can use them to create innovation and expand your mindset to find ways to overcome challenges.
So what do you do when you’re faced with an obstacle in your life?
I think we could all use a lesson on how to deal with and overcome challenges from this amazing group of boys. Because what they were faced with was truly a real and epic challenge. They wanted to play soccer but they lived on a small floating island village there was no land.
What they did next is nothing short of amazing and is a true example of how to overcome challenges with flare!
How many times have you said you can’t do something because the conditions aren’t right or you didn’t think you could overcome challenges you were facing?
They were laughed at, ridiculed, and made fun of by the people with closed minds who couldn’t see their vision or anyway to overcome challenges the boys faced. But the boys perceived and as it always does when you take action to overcome challenges and problems along your path of growth and success, the opportunity showed up! A one day tournament on the mainland.
And just like most people, they didn’t have 100% confidence in their ability. They questioned whether they were good enough to compete. And they wrestled with the idea of entering the tournament.
Things may not always look like you think they should, conditions might not always be optimal, and you may not even be able to see any possible way to overcome challenges with what you’re working with or how what you’re doing will lead you to where you want to go but, you don’t need to worry about that. The only thing you need to worry about it is taking constant action to move closer to your goals and as you progress towards them, you’ll get better.
These boys did what they had to do to overcome challenges they faced in order to play soccer. It wasn’t ideal, or even safe but it was BECAUSE of the less than desirable conditions and their decision to overcome challenges, no matter how big they seemed, that their skills were tightly honed so much better than the other players they were able to come in second place!
Because these boys learned how to overcome challenges and took action they created a legacy and the club they started is now regarded as one of Southern Thailand’s best football clubs with youth championships in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010!
We all run into challenges and all it takes is thinking a little differently to overcome challenges and create solutions to problems just like these boys did. Be sure and let me know your thoughts on this video because I think it’s amazing!
