“The only disability in life is a bad attitude” – Matthew Jeffers
We all hear about the importance of a positive mindset and a positive attitude. All the greats in human potential and personal growth have been preaching it for years.
And for good reason. It’s the one thing that we all have 100% control over 100% of the time NO MATTER WHAT!
It makes no difference what happens to us in life, we choose how we look at. We choose how it impacts us. We choose whether or not it’s a blessing or a curse.
Circumstances can and do change in an instant and nothing stays the same for ever. You can’t always win but losing isn’t always a bad thing either (and that’s coming from an ultra competitive guy). I was chatting with one of my friends the other day about some personal stuff and we were talking about this very subject. And as I thought about it, I told him:
“I don’t really mind when things that appear to be “bad” happen in my life. To me, I look at those things as an opportunity to make my life richer, to make me stronger, and add experiences that fill my life with interesting stories. I might be overly positive but given the choice, I think that’s a better choice. There is always something in life that is out of balance but there are always things in life that are in perfect harmony that create success and happiness too. I just don’t see problems as problems anymore but instead, I see them as opportunities to enhance my life to create even more things to be grateful for than I already have.”
And then I saw this video with that simple, amazing, and powerful quote.
“The only disability in life is a bad attitude” and I thought…
I wonder where my life would be today if I focused on all the things that bring me down and create a bad attitude?
I know and can say with 100% certainty that my life would look NOTHING like it does today and I love my life! I can credit a positive attitude along with persistence and hard work to that.
We can’t control everything, in fact, we can’t control a lot of things but the one thing we can always control is the only thing we need to be able to control to create everything in life we want…
Our attitude or outlook or perspective on life, ourselves, and the things that happen all around us.
The true message of this video and this quote isn’t limited to football, it encompasses all of life itself…
