Most people know what Paul Mitchell is. A high end hair product and salon brand. But not many people know the story behind the success of that company.
John Paul DeJoria is an amazing and humble man who has a even more amazing philosophy about success.
“In life success unshared is total failure”.
I love this because it mirrors some of the same things I went through during my own journey to success.
Driving around selling stuff door to door. Getting rejected over and over and over again. Fighting through against the odds. Digging deep to find the drive to keep going even when by all logical rights there is NO WAY you will actually create success.
But…
When a person who was homeless living from his car can start a company with $700 dollars in an industry he was fired from 3 times and told by the experts that he didn’t have what it takes to make it in that industry can perceiver and build a company that’s worth $4 BILLION dollars today in spite of all the obstacles placed in his path, it simply reminds us that anything is possible when you just keep on keeping on even in the face of what appears to be real evidence to the contrary.
The most powerful nugget of wisdom in this video is the beginning line:
“Obstacles are things we see when we take our minds of our goals”
It’s a GREAT reminder to stay focused and keep our minds on our goals and what’s possible this week.
