If you’re not full-time in network marketing yet, this is a warning that you need to be aware of for when you get there.
If you are already full-time, I have the likely reason you’re not a higher rank.
It’s the #1 reason leaders plateau and get stuck.
2 words: Management Mode
This is the phase of your business (which I’ve been in too many times) where, instead of creating new teams, you count on your existing teams to get you to the next level.
This is where you throw on your leadership cape and believe your super-human leadership abilities are going to propel you all the way to the top.
Now that you’ve produced quite a bit, you become…
Da-da-da-da-ta-ta – SUPER LEADER!
And listen, nothing wrong with being a great leader… you should always strive to become an amazing leader.
But here’s what makes you NOT a great leader.
When you assume the people who got you to your current rank are the same people who are going to get you to the next rank.
I’m going to write this again so you can write it down and never forget this:
The people who got you to the rank you’re at, are not necessarily the same people who are going to get you to the next rank.
The greatest leaders are not the best motivational speakers, not the best trainers, and usually not the best at any one thing other than this…
The greatest leaders continually SHOW their team how to produce by personally producing themselves.
How to Crush Leadership Plateau in Network Marketing
Remember this…
People see better than they hear. You can tell your team all day long and be the best motivational speaker ever, but it will never be as powerful as showing them how it’s done.
Belief happens from seeing.
Simply put, if you show them it’s possible to produce, they are way more likely to produce.
If you look at the greatest leaders of all time in our profession, they were maniacs when it came to personal production.
Dexter Yager, arguably the most successful network marketer of all time personally sponsored hundreds of people.
My upline from when I was in Amway, Bill Brit, personally sponsored hundreds of people.
They taught me that whatever I lack in skill, I can make up for by starting new teams and finding people better than me.
My biggest key to reaching the top hasn’t been that I’m the best at anything.
I’m not.
But because I’ve personally sponsored hundreds into my company, it’s led to a lot of people better than me at many things and produced an organization that’s led to well over 1 million customers.
I have to laugh sometimes at the edification and recognition I get…
I only look so good because I’ve personally produced so much. The way I see it, if you personally produce a ton, you can’t not find great people.
Do you need to sponsor hundreds to get full time? Not at all…
But mark my words, no matter how great of a leader you are, you need to stay in personal production mode until you’re at the income level you want to retire at.
There literally is no limit to what you can produce, if you’re willing to keep personally producing.
Okay, I’m stepping off my soapbox now. 🙂
Lots of love,
