RESOLVED: 13 Resolutions for LIFE
Since we’re coming up the New Year, I thought I’d get a little head start and talk about resolutions.
And as the title of this post mentions, give you a book recommendation that talks about resolutions.
RESOLVED: 13 Resolutions for LIFE
There are lots of great resolutions in this book but one really stood out to me.
Ben Franklin would make a bunch of resolutions that he lived his life by and he’d pick one and live that way for a certain period of time.
Of all the resolutions this is the one I chose to act on. And you can hold me accountable to this.
“Speak no ill of any man, even if it is out of truth, and to speak only good things”
When I read that resolution, I started thinking about how important that is. And I realized I wasn’t living by that virtue.
I was having lunch with a friend and we started talking about a person we both knew and both had a bad experience with. In fact, I had really little for this person.
And I knew that my lunch friend had a really, REALLY bad experience with this person.
So I said a few things that to me were just truths but were negative truths. And when I observed him saying nothing bad about this person, I realized my level of respect for my friend at was at lunch with shot up through the roof!
That’s when I realized, even if it’s true, I wanted to start living by this resolution more.
What are some resolutions you want to live by that maybe you’re not quite living by yet?
It’s a great question to ask and this book is a great idea jogger to get you started!
