True story:”I Call B.S.” Objection Handling
I was doing a live presentation to 1,500 people in Nairobi, Kenya a while back.
The room was electric.
Jammed wall to wall and so much excitement. My normal presentation is around 45 minutes but that night, I went about an hour and a half because I was doing a bit of a personal development session as well. Then we did a bunch of success stories and, while they’re supposed to be about 30 seconds, that night everyone went 2-5 minutes. The entire session lasted over 2 hours.
I closed the event and asked everyone to get back with whoever invited them out and to let them know if they’re ready to get started.
I did the normal shaking hands and pictures for a bit and then went outside to get some air. (Air Conditioning not working well that night, if at all.)
One of our team members came up to me and asked if I’d come talk to her prospect who was on the fence. I gladly agreed and came over to her prospect.
Rather than beat around the bush, I just smiled and asked her what was holding her back from getting started.
She came back with, “I really just don’t have the time.”
So, I flashed her a huge smile and said, “Well, I call bullshit on that because you just spent over two hours here so I know you have the time.” (Then another big smile and ever so slight chuckle)
She laughed and said, “Okay you’re right.” So I just put out my hand for her to shake and said “let’s get you signed up.”
She filled out the application right there.
Handle Objection Tip #1: Build a Rapport
Now, as I mentioned in yesterday’s email, you have to have built a lot of rapport with people to call them out on their bullshit. I had earned that right because I spent an hour and a half on stage sharing my story and giving value. So don’t just take this “I call B.S.” strategy and use it unless you have really earned the right to do so.
Here’s the bigger point for you to really understand…
People will procrastinate for the sake of procrastinating. Our job as a leader is to move them beyond their self-sabotaging habits and move them to action.
Their objection is almost never the real objection. When you understand what the “real” objection really is, and how to move people through it, you’ll be able to close anyone who is close-able.
Do You Want to Confidently and Effectively Handle the Most Common Network Marketing Objections to Get Positive Results?
If you want to know what the real objection really is, as fast as you possibly can, click https://www.overcometheobjection.com/coaching-7-weeks and read every word on the page.
In my 7-Week Video Coaching program, I go DEEP into the mind of your prospects and teach you how I’ve personally closed thousands of people both over the phone and in person.
I’ll warn you, if you’re the type of person who gets scared by “too much information” and lacks the attention span to thoroughly learn how to masterfully overcome almost any objection, this program will certainly be overkill for you. Because not only do I cover multiple ways to overcome almost every objection, I go overboard on the science of the mind, leadership, creating duplication, and even skills way too advanced for newbies like hypnotic selling skills and how to touch, move and inspire an audience to propel them to action.
