Today’s question for Ask Me Anything TV comes from Edwin in Malaysia :
Edwin says: “I’ve been following your series on closing via YouTube and its really awesome which helps me and my team in growing the business.
I have one serious question to ask and its about leadership.
How do you tolerate an up-line who is not helpful and even worse, he brought you to the team and spoke big things and in the end, I got to know he is involved in another network marketing company?”.
So the question is:
How Do You Handle Bad Upline
Leadership in Network Marketing?
The first thing is, no matter who brings you to the company, there usually someone above that so if you’re not finding your upline leadership through your sponsor, look higher! That’s one of the awesome things about network marketing, you can almost always go upline and find someone who has a financial incentive to help you and work with you.
And second and FAR more important is this…
I’ve had to do this myself in the past to surround myself with the right kind of leadership.
FIRE your sponsor! The person who brought you to the company may have lead you to it but they may not be someone who is even capable of mentoring you or providing the right kind of leadership to help you.
And finally, the MOST important tip of all is this…
There is really only one person who is going to be responsible for your success and that person is YOU!
You are the one who is going to ultimately responsible for your success. It’s great to have an upline with strong leadership to use as a resource but the thing is, if you use your upline as a crutch you’re never going to be able to step into your real power and personal leadership ability.
And power comes from responsibility. When you can say, “I’m going to make it all the way to the top of my company regardless of my upline or leadership or anything else!” that’s when you really become powerful.
The most successful and powerful people in the world all share one common character trait and its’ 100% responsibility.
When you take 100% responsibility for your actions and for your success then you have power! But if you use your upline or leadership as an excuse, that’s a lack of responsibility and that is the opposite of power or in other words, weakness!
Make a strong statement for yourself that you’re going to be powerful, you’re going to be successful, and you’re going to get it done no matter what and not only will you achieve personal fulfillment but you’ll be providing great leadership for others which will in turn attract the right kind of like minded people into your business!
You can be successful no matter what with that kind of mentality.
