Have you ever felt so completely frustrated with your lack of progress that you sometimes just want to give up?
Does it ever feel like no matter how hard you try, it just doesn’t seem to matter?
If so, I get you.
I’ve let frustration paralyze me with anxiety more times than I’ll admit.
I’ve felt so beaten up and bloodied that I just want to throw in the towel.
Thank God I’ve learned some tools that have helped me along the way that have gotten me through some pretty tough situations.
The next time you feel this way, I want you to remember this blog post and the 3 things I’m about to tell you. You may want to save this blog post for when you need it…
3 Ways to Overcome Crippling Frustration
-
Immerse yourself deeper into personal development
Read books like Think and Grow Rich, The Magic of Thinking Big and 7 Secrets to Success.
If you prefer audio, listen to a podcast that motivates you. I’m not an overly religious guy, but when I get in a funk, I listen to Joel Osteen or TD Jakes.
-
Turn frustration into fascination
The emotion of frustration rarely produces a positive outcome. When you become fascinated with why something’s not working, it’s a more positive emotion that will motivate you to continue searching for the solution.
Here’s the mind-trick I play on myself… Whenever the frustration hits me, I immediately say to myself, “This is fascinating. I can’t wait to find the solution to this. This is so much fun.” I also smile when I’m saying it to myself because the physiology of a smile will produce positive chemicals in your body.
I often want to call bullshit on myself which is why I have to repeat this “fascination” idea in my head over and over.

Believing that life is a game
This is not true, it’s just what I believe to be true.
Life is a game.
Games are meant to be fun.
I have only a few short years (maybe 50 more or so) and it will be gone in a blink. The earth is billions of years old so even if I live to be 100, my life is an instant of time. With every second that passes, I’m hurtling towards my death.
Do I want to spend these precious moments tormented with frustration, anxiety, fear, and overwhelm?
Or would it make more sense to spend them in fascination, joy, excitement and fun?
Finally, never forget that life is only 10% what happens to us, but 90% how we react to it.
I pray this helps you in your journey.
Lots of love,
Matt Morris
