Diarrhea in my hair (no joke)
OMG – Last night was one of those parenting experiences I’ll never forget.
After dinner last night, Devon and I took the kids to our regular frozen yogurt shop a couple blocks away from the house.
It was all fine and good and we were having a blast playing “telephone” and all giggling like crazy.
Until…
My son Kaiden says, “Daddy, I have to go potty.” So he trots over to the bathroom. About 20 seconds after he shuts the door, I hear…
“DAAAAAAAAADY!”
Uh-Oh
I rush over to the door and when I open it, I see my 7 year old boy standing in front of the toilet… pants still on… and a mess all over the floor.
He looks up at me with his adorable eyes and tells me, “I peed out my butt.”
Double Uh-Oh
He says “I can’t walk” because he’s got liquid poop running down both legs and into his shoes.
Feeling so sorry for my little man, I have him raise his hands and grab him by his forearms to carry him out to the Escalade. (I would have grabbed his hands but he had poop on them.)
I have to put him in the trunk area on top of my jacket so he doesn’t ruin the seats. Luckily we’re only a couple blocks away.
When we get home, I take him to the laundry room and bend over to pull his pants down. He somehow feels he needs something to stabilize himself so he quickly grabs the top of my head with both of his poop-covered hands.
Hence the diarrhea in my hair.
Eventually, I get him all cleaned up and everything is okay.
Shit happens in Life. What Really Matters is How We Handle the Bad Moments.
Now, you’re probably wondering what in the hell the purpose of this story is.
Well…
There isn’t one. I just thought you might get a kick out of it.
But if I had to make a point up, here it is…
Sometimes in life – shit happens.
You can complain and freak out, or you can just realize it’s part of life and laugh about it.
Next time something happens that freaks you out, just be grateful you don’t have diarrhea in your hair!
