True Story: I dated a girl in my downline in MLM when I was 25

When I was 25, I started dating a girl in my downline. We’ll just call her Mary.

She was super motivated, building a strong team, and was a TB (True Believer). (TB thing sounds kinda cultish after writing that.)

It all was going fine with Mary. That is, until I decided to start dating someone else.

So I broke it off very politely. But Mary was hot… and I’m not talking about in a sexy kind of way.

She was pissed!

I’ll spare you the details, but from that point on, let’s just say Mary wasn’t the most pleasant distributor to work with.

Unfortunately she quit the business quickly thereafter and pretty much her entire team followed suit. One of MANY expensive lessons I’ve learned over the last 24 years in this crazy world of Network Marketing.

How to Build a Relationship with your MLM Downline: The DON’T

The lesson is this… don’t date your downline romantically.

Why do I say “romantically”?
