Challenges in Network Marketing
Hey! Coming to you from Bucharest, Romania! Speaking of the many challenges in network marketing… I just did an event and I was doing a little training out in the hall. I had a young guy asking me about success and how to be successful in network marketing and all that. So, I gave him a few things, and the one thing he said was…
“Well, the problem is…” Followed by, “I show it to people and they don’t get it. They don’t want to get it, and they don’t want to change their life.”
My thoughts were:
#1 – You need to correct your language.
Every time you acknowledge the problem is something, you make it bigger than it really is. Your energy flows where attention goes.
#2 – The single biggest blessing we have in network marketing, is that so many people don’t get it.
Why do you have to sort through so many people to get going? Why do you have to sort through so many people to find the leader?
It’s the biggest blessing and at the same time it’s the one of the biggest challenges in network marketing!
When people don’t get it — it’s not only the biggest blessing we have, it is actually why our opportunity even exists in the first place. See, if it were easy and everyone bought your product or joined your business, then the company would have no incentive to pay us a lot of money to go out and build a big team.
So, is it hard? Yeah! We can say it’s hard — and you can be grateful for the fact that its hard. Or you can let that frustrate you.
My advice to you, when it comes to challenges in network marketing, is to be excited that it’s hard!
See, I don’t personally believe it’s hard because its just a numbers game. Because I don’t have any emotional attachment to someone saying no. If they say no, cool, I’m on to the next one! For me, that’s not hard. If you can get over the emotional attachment to people approving of what you’re doing (saying YES to what you’re doing), then the business can actually be really easy. You’re still gonna have to go through the numbers, but mentally it can be a joy.
I’m always having fun every time I do a presentation. I’m gonna have a good time whether they say yes or no.
Be grateful for the fact that you have to sort through so many people! Be grateful for the fact that it’s a challenge. Because if it wasn’t a challenge, the company wouldn’t pay us a fortune to do it. See, it’s easy to have a job. You show up for work — get a paycheck. Show up again for work — get a paycheck. You don’t have to step out of your comfort zone. You don’t have to experience the challenges in network marketing.
Personally, I love the fact that we have to go through a lot of numbers because that’s why we get to live the lifestyle that we do as leaders.

Pain Is Temporary
Giving Up on Network Marketing
There were many times in my early career when I felt like giving up on network marketing completely! As some of you know, I struggled for about 5 years until I got to a full time income. Now, as I’ve been traveling around the world and have grown to lead organizations of over 1,000,000 people, people will say “You’re so good,” and edify me a lot.
It’s great to get the edification and all. But in reality, the truth is that I’m just a few years ahead of you guys. If you do anything for 22 years of your life eventually you’re gonna get good at it.
When you have that feeling, when you feel like giving up on network marketing, I want you to think about a couple of these examples.
Think about a baby.
When a baby comes out of the womb it has to learn how to walk. The parents don’t give up on their baby before they learn how to walk, you’re going to keep working with your baby until it happens. Right?
Playing the guitar.
Now, I’m ridiculously bad at playing the guitar. I own one and have taken a handful of lessons, but I’m still really bad at it. Here’s what I know is true: as bad as I am, I know I’m capable of doing it one day. Anyone who played the guitar and practiced an hour a day, consistently over time, is going to get good. You can’t not get good — especially if you have a coach or a mentor.
The great thing about the network marketing profession is that whatever company you’re involved in you typically have an upline and a training system to plug in to. You can even have a foster mentor and mentors from afar, like myself, learning by watching videos like this.
Just realize this, you have to get good eventually. If you feel like giving up on network marketing because your skill set is not where it needs to be, be patient with yourself. Be patient with your results… But be impatient with your activity!
The key to this business is consistent effort over time.
If you keep taking that consistent effort over time, you’re going to get good. I was really bad for a while, before I got good. Again, if you do anything long enough you’re going to get good at it, so have that faith in yourself.
Sometimes you just have to reach down deep and source faith in yourself and knowing that you can do it! There’s going to be challenges that come up. You’re gonna lie to yourself from time to saying things like, “Well maybe I’m not cut out for network marketing. Maybe it’s because I’m not a good enough sales person, or I wasn’t born with the right charisma.”
All of the above are lies that rob you from your freedom.
I believe anyone can do this if they are willing to put in the work and put in the learning. See, in our profession the formula for success is very simple:
Financial Vehicle x Effort x Skill = SUCCESS
You already have the vehicle, so out and learn as much as you can! Watch every video that I’ve put out, take notes on those videos, go through my videos and learn as if you are required to do a training on the information that you learn.
Here’s the catch: to avoid giving up on network marketing, you can’t just learn — you actually have to apply it!
In our business there is an art and a science, and the only way to get the art is to go out and do it over and over again. If you’re willing to do that I guarantee it will come together for you. When you feel like quitting, and when you feel like giving up on network marketing — remember you have what it takes, you just have to do it long enough to get the art and science down.
Once you get it, you got it! It’s never gonna go away. You’ll be able to create income at will. You’re gonna be able to build new teams at will. Anytime you want to, you can just turn it on and it can lead you to an absolutely incredible life of fun, freedom and fulfillment.
As I’m here in Romania, it’s so amazing to see so many people here achieving financial freedom. Lives have been changed because I told someone, who told someone, who told someone. And now we are launching yet another country.
That’s my wish for you. I wish for you to be able to get the financial freedom you deserve, get that out of the way, and be able to spend the rest of your life helping other people.

How to Overcome Frustration in Network Marketing
On the journey to your dreams, you are going to have frustration. It’s gonna kick in here and there. You’re going to have all kinds of mixed emotions and negative feelings. There’s gonna be times where you probably wanna give up, when you’re pissed off, when you’re angry, when you’re depressed. Whatever. Frustration in network marketing is inevitable.
Every successful person has to learn how to manage their emotions.
To avoid frustration in network marketing you have to discipline your disappointments.
Here’s a strategy that I found amazingly effective, and I gotta tell you in 22 years as an entrepreneur I’ve been through so much frustration its not even funny…
#1 – I want you to realize that frustration in network marketing is a part of the journey!
On the journey to leading organizations of over 1,000,000 people, there’s been a lot of challenges and frustration. The disappointments and negative emotions are a part of the journey. So, do your very best not to beat yourself up for feeling the way that you feel because it’s all a part of the game. Every massively successful person, with NO exception, has been through that.
#2 – Set a deadline!
If I get into a frustration mode or a depressed mode and it’s kind of lingering for a little bit, then I’ll just set a deadline. I’ll put a timer in my phone for the next hour, and I’m going to be as depressed, angry, or emotional as I can possibly be for the next hour. I’ll bitch and complain as much as I can!! I want to let it ALL OUT! I own that negative emotion, feel it, and let it out.
When the timer goes off, I’m done. Most times I’m feeling so ridiculous being depressed or whatever it may be that I don’t even make it until the timer goes off. Almost every time, about 10-15 minutes before the timer goes off I decide that my pity party is done, and it’s time to be happy.
