Imagine with me for a moment…

You just finished presenting your opportunity to a great prospect…

You feel excited and nervous at the same time wondering what they’re going to say.

You courageously ask…

“Are you ready to get started?”

“I would love to…” says your prospect with excitement.

“I know a ton of people who will join me with this. We are going to CRUSH this together. The only thing is, right now I don’t have the money to join… (insert story about losing their job, unexpected bills, etc)”

Your heart goes out to them as they share their situation.

“If you can just pay my way in, I’m positive I can sponsor 10 people in the next couple weeks. Can you help me out?”

Because you have a big heart, and you’re thinking about your business finally starting to grow with the 10 people they’re going to sponsor, everything in you wants to say yes and pay their way in.

Devon and I were flying back to Texas the other day playing a game on the seat monitor called 2048.

It’s a puzzle game where you match number blocks together starting at 2 and going all the way up to 2048.

I had a score of 19,000 compared to Devon’s 4,000 or so.

Since I had played the game before I gave Devon two sentences of coaching for her next game. “Keep the large numbers at the bottom. The goal is to never have to swipe up.”

That tiny piece of advice allowed her to triple her score on the very next game.

Imagine for a moment you’re sitting here in my home office drinking a cup of coffee with me.

I look at you and ask:

“~Firstname~, do you want to be a millionaire?”

You: “Yes!”

I look you dead in the eye and with a serious tone ask, “Are you serious about that?”

“Yes”, you say a bit timidly.

“Okay ~Firstname~, prove it to me… show me your exact actionable game plan to get there.”

“Uhhhhhhh wellllll” you stammer “I don’t really have one.”

This, my friend, is the reason most fail.

Everyone WANTS to be a millionaire.

30,000 feet in the air as I write this heading home from Minnesota.

Devon’s family has a cabin on a beautiful little lake near Brainerd.

We had a blast but I’m excited to get back to “Hotter n Hell” Texas to sleep in my own bed.

If you can’t tell, I’m stalling to get to today’s message because truthfully…

I have no idea what today’s message is.

When I’m stuck, I just start writing and usually something comes to me when I get into action.

Grrr. Still nothing.

Quick personal story: How to (sort of) Live Forever

A few years ago, I took my daughters to the grave of my oldest known ancestor who I found through an online ancestry program.

In my 40+ years of life, no one in my family ever mentioned his name. In fact, I’m pretty sure no one knew who the hell he was.

I don’t know what I was expecting to feel, but when I stood there with my daughters, I felt a little sadness.

Sad because I realized my 6th great grandfather, along with just about every other man between me and him in our bloodline lived, died, and were soon forgotten.
