Pardon my rant here but I need to get something off my chest…

I receive emails from time to time from people who say they can’t afford to buy my books or courses because they haven’t started making money with their business yet. I just got another one yesterday.

Listen:

I’m fine with people not buying my stuff. I know I’m not for everyone and I know some people will just never invest in themselves no matter how good my products are and no matter how many success stories my training has created.

But saying I can’t afford to buy your training, or buy any training for that matter, because I haven’t made any money in my business is the equivalent of saying, “I know I’m failing in school, but I’m not going to get a tutor until I’m making good grades.”

Diarrhea in my hair (no joke)

OMG – Last night was one of those parenting experiences I’ll never forget.

After dinner last night, Devon and I took the kids to our regular frozen yogurt shop a couple blocks away from the house.

It was all fine and good and we were having a blast playing “telephone” and all giggling like crazy.

Until…

My son Kaiden says, “Daddy, I have to go potty.” So he trots over to the bathroom. About 20 seconds after he shuts the door, I hear…

If you’re building a direct selling organization or if you’re building a business of any kind, you’re going to have negative things happen. No way around it.

In 25 years as an entrepreneur, I feel like I’ve been through it all.

• Companies going out of business
• People quitting on me
• Event disasters
• Losing six to multiple six-figures in investments
• Losing major organizations of people to other companies
• You name it!

When negative things happened early on, it used to bother me a great deal. I’d lose sleep and stress myself out like crazy. I’d want to rip people’s heads off.

Let’s face it…

Some people are so negative you could give them a million dollars and they’d complain the bag was too heavy.

It reminds me of a story I heard one time…

I went duck hunting with a really negative guy on my team named Dale.

I brought my dog and every time we’d shoot a duck, my dog would run on top of the water to go retrieve the duck. This happened several times and I kept looking over at Dale thinking he’d be super impressed to see a dog that can run on water. But he never said anything.
