Double Your Rate Of Success In Network Marketing

September 20, 2019 by Brycen Coffman

Double your rate of success in network marketing

The most counterintuitive approach to double your rate of success in network marketing that you’ve ever heard…

Most people believe that top-earners come out of the gate knowing how to increase their rate of success in network marketing, don’t face challenges, or don’t face failures

I’m here to tell you…

That’s NOT true.

I still have people not call me back…

Not show up for presentations…

And straight up walk out of my presentations.

Let me share a quick story:

A few years ago I flew down to Houston, Texas to do a launch event for a new couple that was getting started in the business.

They had already done a launch event and it was HUGE!

A lot of people had come to the first event so I agreed to come to the second event.

I walk into their studio (where they’re doing the launch event) and it looked great!

We had rows of chairs all lined up, the stage was set, it was perfect…

…except for one thing.

THEY WEREN’T THERE YET!

Finally, the couple shows up a little late and it’s getting time to start the presentation…

…but there are no guests yet.

The couple that I had flown to Houston for either didn’t invite ANYONE or nobody they invited showed up.

I began my presentation anyway when a couple of people showed up.

Here comes the worst part…

The couple I flew down for LEFT about a third of the way through the presentation.

They walked out of their own meeting!

I laughed it off, had a great time on stage, and signed up the people who did stay for the whole presentation.

Not the results I was looking for, but we made the best out of it.

Chances are, if you’re in network marketing, the top leaders in your company are going through the same things you’re going through.

They get rejected…

Get told “no”…

Have people walk out of their presentations…

Get stood up…

Everything you can think of.

The key is this: Just do more of it!

My rate of success in network marketing increased dramatically when I decided…

I was going to detach myself from the results and I was just going to focus on the process.

The process, I decided, was going to be a lot of fun (which made me want to do it more)…

When you approach things from this perspective…

It’s easier to go all in and take massive action (without caring about what the results were going to be).

Yes, I wanted to make money, create results and enroll people…

…but I stopped focusing on that and focused on the process.

If you want to double your rate of success, then double your rate of failure

Go double, triple, and quadruple your rate of failure.

Get more no shows!

Be excited when people reject you.

Obviously, get better! I’m not saying screw up on purpose, but work on your skill and get better.

The more you fail, the more you’re going to have success.

Tom Watson, the founder of IBM, said, “If you want to greatly increase your success, double your rate of failure.”

So my friends, go fail.

Fail fast.

And increase your success.

7 Words For Network Marketing Success

September 18, 2019 by Brycen Coffman

7 Words For Network Marketing Success

What if I told you that you could transform your network marketing business with just 7 words? Would you call BS? Try it out for yourself. These are the 7 words for network marketing success.

The 7 words for network marketing success that you’ll want to implement into your business IMMEDIATELY

First off, Disclaimer!

This is something I learned from my good friend, Lisa Grossman.

She trained at an event I attended and found it SO impactful…

I HAD to write a blog post about it.

Ready for the 7 words?

Here we go:

I…

Will…

Help…

You…

Build…

Your…

Business…

I will help you build your business

During every sales process, there are 3 main things that people want to know before making their decision.

Does it work?

Can I do it?

Will you help me?

If you’re a good networker, you want to let people know that you’ll help them.

Seems simple enough, right?

Let me tell you what you DON’T want…

Don’t let the 7 words for network marketing success be your downfall…

What do I mean by that?

We don’t want a situation where people think that you’re going to build their business FOR them.

When enrolling a new customer…

Understand that you are their coach…

Not their nanny or the person building anything for them.

You don’t want to establish a welfare mentality.

When enrolling someone…

Establish expectations from the start…

Expectations that you are going to support them in building their company, but they need to be the ones building it and cannot rely on you for everything.

Here’s the perfect analogy

You’ve got a horse and you’ve got the jocky.

The jockey’s job in the race is to steer the horse…

To guide the horse.

The jocky is NOT the one who runs because that’s the horse’s job.

So, it’s your prospect’s job to call people, bring them to you, show them the business, and collect decisions.

It’s your job to steer the horse to the finish line; to guide your prospect down the path of success.

During a race, if the horse stops mid-race…

Does the Jocky pick up the horse and run him through the finish line?

Of course not!

So, don’t pick your prospect up and build the business for them.

As a leader…

A mentor…

And a coach…

You will help your new rep build their business by helping to enroll a new person and teaching them strategies for success…

Their job is to build the business.

Getting A New Rep Started Fast In Network Marketing | 2 Tips

September 13, 2019 by Brycen Coffman

2 Tips For Getting A New Rep Started Fast | Network Marketing

There is a big difference between getting a new rep started fast in network marketing
and getting a new rep duplicating fast in network marketing. If you’re a great salesman…
You may not be so great at the latter.

When I first started, I thought getting a new rep in network marketing meant I had to become a good salesman.

With this mentality, I thought I was going to CRUSH it!

I read a bunch of books on sales…

Had a few sales jobs…

Sold door-to-door…

Worked in a phone room making sales calls…

This network marketing thing was going to be a walk in the park!

Can you guess what happened?

I was WRONG!

It took me five years to get to a full-time income.

I was great at closing but couldn’t get my new representative to duplicate!

Realized that top salespeople don’t always make the best network marketers.

Why?

Here’s what happened in my case:

I would enroll someone, close them, then celebrate and move on to the next one!

Thinking back, it’s actually kind of funny.

The big money in network marketing comes from duplication…

From building leadership and training.

Here’s a quick tip:

When getting a new rep started fast in network marketing… DON’T celebrate

Not yet at least…

Let me explain:

I owned my own network marketing company for a handful of years.

We hired the number one firm on retention to educate us on how to keep our representatives.

Through the education process, they laid some stats on me.

The greatest attrition comes in the first 60 to 90 days.

That means people are most likely to quit in the very beginning – within’ the first few months.

So, in my opinion, you shouldn’t be celebrating unless that person you just recruited…

Recruits somebody else.

If we know that people are most likely to quit at the beginning…

The number one thing you can do to get someone to stay with you long term…

Is to get some success under their belt and get them in motion.

There is literally a law in physics that states: An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest.

If you don’t get people into action quickly, they’re very likely to never get into action at all and never duplicate.

So, how do you get them duplicating quickly?

Here you go…

2 tips for getting a new rep started quickly in network marketing

Here’s the reality:

Leaders lead.

People are used to be told what to do & almost WANT to be told what to do (whether they realize it or not).

When we’re growing up, our parents tell us what to do. When going to school, our teachers tell us and when getting a job, our bosses tell us what to do.

People are used to being led.

Alright, now that we’ve got that settled…

Here’s the first tip for getting a rep started fast in network marketing:

Give them a quota & clear the date!

Yes! Give them something to do.

Give them a sales quota to hit or an event to attend.

Invite them to an event…

…but do it tactfully by clearing the date.

What does that mean?

It looks like this:

You:
“Hey Bill, what are you doing Saturday afternoon?”
Notice I didn’t ask if he wanted to go to an event on Saturday afternoon… Bill would most likely come up with an excuse not to go.

Bill:
“Nothing. I’m free.”

You:
“Awesome! Let’s get you off to a fast start and attend the training event this weekend”
You’re much more likely to get a “yes” if that person already committed to telling you he/she didn’t have any plans.

Want another example? Of course you do…

You:
“What are you doing tomorrow for lunch?”

New Rep:
“Nothing”

You:
“Great! We’re gonna get your business launched tomorrow. What I want you to do is have at least two people come to lunch. Now, I’m going to come and I’ll actually show the business for you. You invite and I’m going to show you how this works.

This is called job training.

When you just enroll someone and tell them, “go get them tiger!” people are very unlikely to actually ‘go get them’.

They need some leadership so I’d say something like:

“Well, I want you to have at least two people. Now, you probably need to have three or four say they’re coming. I would recommend you have about four who say they can come to lunch because people have things come up. They have to work late or something random happens.  Once you’ve invited them and confirmed lunch, you can let them know, that you’ve got an idea that you’re working on and you’re excited about sharing it with them. That way they know they’re going to see something and then when I’m there, I’m obviously your business partner with the idea. And so I’m going to go through and do everything.”

See how much more effective that would be than to just tell them to ‘go get em’ and go watch the company trainings?

You want them training, sure…

…but you want them to take action more than anything.

Ignorance on fire is much better than knowledge on ice.

Alright, here’s one more quick tip to get a new rep started fast in network marketing:

Have them set a goal!

People are more likely to go do something if they have a goal.

This might look something like this:

You: “Is this something you’re pretty serious about?”

Bob: “Yes”

You: “Great! Would you like to make all your money back next week?”

Bob: “Yes!”

You: “Are you willing to follow my coaching to make that a reality?”

Bob: “Yes!”

You: “Great! What I want to do right now is write down your top 10 people that you know best. Let’s send them a text right now & get some appointments set.”

This gets them to make a commitment to you.

If they don’t do it…

They’ve gone back against something they already committed to.

These strategies have been instrumental in my growth…

So, go take massive action and get some new reps duplicating quickly within’ your organization!

Top 3 Most Dangerous Words For Your Success

September 11, 2019 by Brycen Coffman

The Top 3 Most Dangerous Words For Your Success

If words could be considered ‘dangerous’, these 3 words would be considered the most dangerous words for your success in the English dictionary.

Listen up

The other day our company was doing a presentation…

We have all our leaders kind of come together and we do a big event.

That night after I spoke, we had a phenomenal leader on my team do a fast start training.

I’m under the belief that if there is an opportunity to absorb some powerful nuggets of information that will help me become better…

I am all in!

So, I brought in all the new people who signed up during our presentation to this leader’s fast start training.

I began taking a bunch of notes and am learning a ton of great information when I noticed something…

None of the other full-time leaders were in the room.

The room was full of new members!

I left the room and looked outside to see a bunch of the other full-time leaders talking with each other (not prospects).

So, I went back into the room, shook my head and sat down.

My organization makes up about 75% of our company, I was the top income earner at the event and I’m learning, taking notes, absorbing and soaking in all this incredible information.

Why are the others not doing the same?

The answer lies in a philosophy…

I don’t care what level you are currently…

If you’re making $10 million/year or $1k/year…

It doesn’t matter.

The 3 most dangerous words for your success

“I”.

“Know”.

“That”.

“I know that”

Those 3 words are the most dangerous words for your success.

Chances are that the other full-time leaders weren’t in the training because they figured, “I already know that. I’ve heard this information a bunch of times and I don’t need to hear it again.”

I have a different philosophy.

This philosophy, I believe, leads to huge success and it revolves around the Japanese art of kaizen.

The Japanese art of continuous and never-ending improvement.

You’re either green and growing or you’re ripe and rotten.

When I joined the company that I’m involved in now, I started about three and a half years late…

I didn’t do anything for three and a half years.

When I came into the presentation, even though I had owned my own network marketing company and have been the top income earner in two other companies…

I was the ULTIMATE student.

Learning how other people present, studying, taking notes, memorizing quotes and one-liners.

Why?

Because I am dedicated to continual improvement!

There may be 1 phrase or quote that somebody uses that is pure gold!

I’m going to take that and use it in my presentation because…

Why invent average when you can copy genius?

I don’t have a whole lot of genius…

I’ve just been a really good copy cat over the years.

The only reason I’m perceived as great is because I’ve been great at copying & absorbing information and putting my own unique twist on it.

Not a lot of brilliance in that, is there?

Realize…

We’re all like trees in the forest

Many people are going to water their tree which will get to a certain size.

Watering your tree represents learning – attending events, reading books, applying yourself, and getting out of your comfort zone.

Unfortunately, a lot of people get to $100,000/year and they stop watering their tree.

Or maybe they get to $500,000/year or $1 million/year and they stop watering their tree.

Then they wonder why their business is failing.

Realize that becoming the ultimate student will bring you more fulfillment…

More success…

Than you ever thought possible.

Continue to water your tree.

Pour into yourself.

Go out and make yourself the biggest tree in the forest.

Handling Disappointments In Network Marketing

September 9, 2019 by Brycen Coffman

Handling disappointments in network marketing

What makes handling disappointments in network marketing so challenging is
the simple fact that most people  don’t expect there to be many disappointments – Especially as it relates to leadership.

The “it’ll be better when…” mentality

So many people, when it comes to network marketing, get involved in network marketing and struggle!

The mindset is always, “It’s going to be better when…” or “It’s going to be amazing when…”.

It reminds me of when I was a kid…

When I was in elementary school, I wanted to go to middle school.

While in middle school, I wanted to go to high school.

Once in high school, I wanted to go to college.

We’re always thinking that somehow it’s going to get better as we progress or as we get older.

If you’ve lived at all…

You understand that’s rarely the case.

The reality of leadership is:

The higher the level of leadership, the more you’ll more skills you’ll need to develop when it comes to handling disappointments in network marketing.

Why?

Because there will be more disappointments!

As you develop large organizations, there are just more things that can go wrong.

There are more people and any time you get a lot of people together…

Crazy drama is likely to ensue.

If I take a look at my career over the course of the last 23 years, building teams that I’ve grown to over a million customers…

I would say the last 9 years have been the best experience I’ve ever had in network marketing.

We’ve intentionally created an amazing culture within’ my organization.

Even though the culture is phenomenal…

There’s still drama and craziness that goes with it.

There are still disappointments.

If you’re not prepared for disappointments, you’re not prepared for leadership

We’ve got to stop expecting everything to be perfect all the time.

Great leaders become great leaders because they become good at disciplining their disappointments and handling challenges.

Instead of wishing there were fewer challenges, be grateful for the challenge.

If there weren’t a lot of challenges, you wouldn’t really be a great leader, would you?

Why?

There isn’t a great leader out there that doesn’t go through challenges.

Look at some of the greatest companies & founders in history:

Steve Jobs,

Uber,

Bill Gates,

They’ve all been through an incredible amount of challenges.

So, first:

Stop expecting there to not be a lot of disappointments.

How do we deal with disappointments in network marketing when they come up?

Let’s say something happens that’s a major disappointment…

Because you’re so disappointed – you hang onto that disappointment and you grieve over that disappointment and you’re so upset about the disappointment and you blame everyone else about your disappointment and you think, “What could I have done differently?”

You beat yourself up because of the disappointment and can’t seem to get out of this funk.

Here’s the key: The more you focus on the disappointment, the longer it hangs around.

The longer it hangs around, the longer your grieving process is.

So, I’m going to give you two key-words that I used to help me overcome going out of business, being $750k in debt and losing almost everything…

Ready?

Over & Next.

Here’s the way I look at disappointments: There’s going to be some people who are so disappointed that they’re not going to go after their goals and dreams again.

Why?

Average people don’t experience a ton of disappointments the way great leaders do… so they don’t know how to handle them!

So you have to choose:

Do I want to sacrifice my purpose so that I can live a very average life and not have to experience these disappointments?

Of course not!

The key-words “over” & “next” help to remind me to move forward and put the past behind me.

If you’ve got something going on in your business and you’ve been dwelling on the negative…

You’ve got to do everything in your power to say, “You know what? That is over. Next! We’ve got to move on. Great leaders move on.”

Otherwise, you’re never going to rise to your potential.

When handling disappointments in network marketing, realize…

If you’re focused on disappointments, you’ll never reach your fullest potential.

Part of my mission in life is to continually rise to the highest level of potential that God has for me.

I understand that if I’m dwelling on the disappointments…

If I’m losing sleep over disappointments…

Or if I’m crying over disappointments…

I will never get to rise to that potential and live up to the rest of the purpose that I have for my life.

So say to yourself, “over & next”.

Move on, move forward, and make it happen.
